I have been playing League of Legends for years. During my time playing this game I never payed much attention to the artwork. I always looked at each individual character as having their own story and having their own unique personality. Over time I started to notice something about the character art. A great majority of the female characters in the game that were not Yordel's... were being designed as coke bottle waist-ed, large breasted, thin women.

last night I was watching Evan Almighty and a commercial came on advertising for waist trainers to help women get the shape they want for the their body. Excuse my french but what the f&*^? Why would you intentionally abuse your body, and manipulate it to be unnatural. I see this pattern coming up over and over again. Women are not happy or pleased with their appearance or they feel like there is always room for improvement. There is NOT. The only improvements you should consider making are eating healthier, and exercising often.

Here is a reality check, modern day media has completely and utterly destroyed the image of what it means to be a woman. Advertising for body manipulation such as "trainers" (Torture Devices from the Victoria Era), breast implants, butt implants, face lifts, and so on. It's disturbing that our young women are seeing these images and feel pressured to conform to an unrealistic standards that are not actually attainable. Putting blond haired, or brunette woman on the news, exposing as much of their long legs as they can without showing their goods. Showing that their value is in their sexuality, and attractiveness, rather than their intelligence and achievements. Editing pictures of super models and putting them on billboards. All these things are negatively impacting our society. Men and women alike.

Riot, I ask you and your artist, please alter the character art to reflect the natural body of a women, and take it easy on the low cut V neck clothing. You have 27 million people play your game daily. Be mindful of that especially because the images you are portraying to your male dominant audience is giving them a flawed image of women. I also ask that you come down hard on sexist comments. The community is going to have some level of toxicity, and there will be individuals that are not so pleasant, but I would like to see some of the young men who wouldn't dare speak to their mothers in the fashion they do online, be held accountable for their inappropriate comments and poor attitude towards their peers. Women should not feel the need to hide the fact that they are female because they are afraid of being judged, or being the victim of inappropriate comments from their young male counterparts.

Riot I am a huge fan of this game and all the work that you have put into it. I am proud of your company for taking a leap of faith and investing into the Electronic Sports industry. I see you taking huge leaps forth and setting the bar high for all the other MOBAs out there, but I want to see you lead on this issue too. Become a model for the gaming industry of equality and respect for all individuals, regardless of sex, race, or gender. I have faith in this company to do the right thing.

Thank you for your time and good luck

Riot's working on changing this. They've already talked about exploring new body types in female champions and are working to deliver some more diversity to the female roster. The thing is, attention shifted to this topic after it was brought up over and over before. They know what's going on, but all of the champs already designed with this "coke bottle-waisted" body type are likely to stay that way. I wouldn't worry about the future too much. And, well, there's not much point in worrying about the past. So yeah.

well if you think about it, this is what most people in modern society consider "Sexy", look at Victoria secret models, they are all very thin girls with large breasts. most of us would rather look at an attractive individual than a "realistic" individual. it is a game and it doesn't really matter also the art work is how the artist expresses themselves. In my opinion all of the artworks are great and I find many if not all female champions to be very attractive, of course some splash arts could be updated * cough Evelynncough. but i did saw a discussion a few month back about the exact subject. it was a 50/50 argument and many still argued that the way riot has been doing things are just fine. I, as a artist feel like the people who work on the game's art is doing a fantastic job as my skill level isn't even close to theirs.
