Question about new and future champions

This is kinda skimble-skamble question, but i am curious why new champions that are created are ether humanlike or humanoid? Why there are no more unique creations like vel'koz or monster type champs like Rek'Sai or Cho Gath? The only one that kinda steers away is Ornn, but he is still kinda humanoid (2 arms, 2 legs, basic structure). Are there any plans for these type of champions that I mentioned or maybe adding a new unique race to the League Universe?
