League Of Legends Winter Map and Limited edition runes.

I was just wondering if we can ever look forward to fun stuff like this again? I miss the things that made league special. . It stuck out from other games that were similar and the holiday's felt inviting on the game! I miss the winter map, and I miss the limited edition Runes that you could purchase as well. . You also did little things like turn the health potions and such into cups of hot cocoa or candy. League has grown and as a person that has been here since the start I can honestly say it's become a little disheartening to see the holidays that were once cherished just thrown away. . It's halloween and the halloween skins aren't even out. .The little events we were able to do for special rewards and Icons are far less with holidays..and both the winter map and halloween map are vanished forever so it seems. These little things are what kept me the loyal customer I am with league of legends.. I literally cannot be gifted because I own almost every skin ever made (not kidding here..Just missing the pax skins really). . and I gift my friends often. I am one of the people that helped put you where you were and believed in you.. and that's not me having a big head, that's me being honest. . I own over 600 Skins. . Do the math? that's ALOT of money. . thousands of dollars. . I didn't mind paying for the skins or spending the money for the time it took to make such awesome stuff. .But I just want to ask a simple favor. . Please do something for me for a change.. for the community... For the people that have been here and the new people that never got to see it..Please bring us back our winter map this year? I have patiently waited to see the game I fell in love with come back to me.. Those little things, the special things that you looked forward to every year. . are just gone. collecting the runes was awesome. . It gave me something to do by saving up my IP and patiently waiting. Seems now though. . that things like that. . the ones that make no real profit are just not here anymore. I just have to ask, were those thing genuine??? OR were they to build the game into what it is now??? You have your money... can we please have our fun? You're still going to get your money off the skins you release, and several other things you make profit from. As a loyal customer (and I am sure I speak for many) can we please please please have some of these special little moments from the past back? I hope you take the time to read this riot. Thank you for many years of fun..here's to hoping for many more.. Please prove that my money and my time have been spent well. . show us you care about us by treating us to the things that used to make league what it was.. The special maps. . The special runes. . The tiny little things that made you say " oh hey that's pretty darn cool. . my health pot is a cocoa cup!" OR " oh sweet I get to collect these limited edition runes that have pumpkins and snowmen". . The new people to this game have never got to see these thing and think I am crazy when I say they were a thing. Please try and remember who you were before you got so big. . I for one would love to spend the holidays with my friends on League! How much work rito does for the gangplank event never to be seen again. The harrowing seems like it was cancelled this year for SKT. It'd be amazing if we could play customs together with fun maps and announcers.

I really like this! The small changes to the map, runes etc. make the game feel more alive and more interesting :) Here are some suggestions:

Christmas Content:

  • Winter version of Summoner's Rift
  • Snowmen, red candles and decoration on the trees, frozen river
  • The animals on the map change fur or feather colour etc., or even get scarfs and hats
  • Baron gets santa hats for all the heads!
  • Rift Herald gets an elf hat, as he is Santa Baron's little helper
  • Dragon gets a knit cardigan (he is not pleased with this gift from his grandma, but wears it out of respect for her...)
  • Jungle creeps get antlers and red noses
  • Winter themed runes
  • Special Summoner Icons that can be purchased for IP or RP

Halloween Content:

  • Halloween version of Summoner's Rift
  • Pumpkins with light, white and messy candles, grave stones, green river
  • The animals on the map are switched out for bats, spiders and snakes instead
  • Baron gets multiple pumpkin heads!
  • Rift Herald gets a Baron mask
  • Dragon is now black with red eyes
  • Jungle creeps are now ghosts
  • Halloween themed runes
  • Special Summoner Icons that can be purchased for IP or RP

Easter Content:

  • Easter version of Summoner's Rift
  • Painted eggs, yellow candles, clearer river
  • The animals on the map are switched out for chickens and bunnies instead
  • Baron gets bunny ears for all heads!
  • Rift Herald gets a basket full of eggs (he has collected them from Bunny Baron! :O)
  • Dragon is now yellow with a chicken beak
  • Jungle creeps get egg shells on top of their heads
  • Easter themed runes
  • Special Summoner Icons that can be purchased for IP or RP

I miss the winter map as well :( the game is becoming boring , its like they dont give a fuck about stuff like that anymore its really sad.

I wasn't around for the original map skins, but I've always wanted to have them come back so I could experience them.

i remember when the howling abyss first came out and there were 3 different factions to choose from ashe, lissandra and one other were the leaders of each faction and u had to choose and u got one of the 3 icons that represent the faction u were in and it was a war between the 3 to see which faction would be the reignin champs of the bridge. just before this event there was another event even bigger. always events events events and now that someone brought it up i realize what you're getting at. theres nothing like cho'gath eats the world or teemo easter egg hunts and all that its all about business, whos gonna rank up and go to worlds or get diamond border or challenger this season? well as an avid aram player i do like the desserts more than the meat and potatoes usually. bring back URF if nothing else! one for all ultra rapid fire mode was insane fun plz i know you get people begging for URF mode every day. Sadly I never got to experience those things since I only started playing recently. I wasn't even aware that most of these events happened until now. I would have loved to experience all of those events, it's small things like that that keep me interested in the game, and holiday events would be an excellent way to get everyone in the holiday spirit. It saddens me that fun events like that have been seeming pushed to the side, the bilgewater map was a blast, and I would love to see more like it. Holiday map skins would be a fun little change to keep things fresh.

It sucks that Riot seem to never respond or care about these type of treads. You can't tell me that they cannot afford to have a team on harrowing while doing worlds. I guess it good to be so rich, they don't have to put time in fun things that the community enjoy. We are basically begging them to sell us stuff but they won't.

Even last year, they got only 2 new skins out. You still got plenty of champions with no harrowing/Christmas skins.

They are telling us: " yeah, we get so much money from worlds and esports at this point that we don't have to put time in designing new skins or events. Suck it."

It's pretty much Korea vs Korea forever in the finals now anyways, so I would prefer something I can actually enjoy.

Yea I remember being there for those amazing times. The maps were beautiful and festive and everyone I knew was always hyped for the next time it would come back, but it didn't happen. A lot of my friends started finding the game kind of boring so they stopped playing. I kept playing in hopes for it to come back and laugh at them saying, "Ha! See that! It came back and now I get to have my fun"... still waiting for it :( Happy Elf Teemo might not be so happy till it happens :P Kinda sad how they put time and money into new concepts for league but what about the enjoyment and entertainment part? Where is the Harrowing this year? Are they just going to stop doing anything festive. Least they could've done was to have new icons.... Guess lores and the magic of fun isn't really what they want. Just more concepts for champions and champions. No map no nothing for them to celebrate holidays on. Kinda sad item 3070

This is my first harrowing and I've watched so many videos on youtube of the old spooky map, and I've been waiting and waiting for a special map, the halloween skins, all the stuff people said would be here. And now it's night time and it's Halloween and there's nothing and it's really disappointing. I like LCS but it seems like the LCS is all riot really cares about. One of the reasons I was so drawn to this game is because I love special events and stuff in video games and I saw how awesome past events were. you guys are lucky have experienced snowy map, special health pot, limited runes, etc. All I can do is hearing how great it was! And now riot states that harrowing can happen in anytime. Maybe they will release snowdown in summer too. All I have is a super predictable Worlds championship, skt won, ohh.. what a surprise.

Riot is a big company, why can't they do things simultaneously? They should create a special team for in game event and everything will be fine.

I freaking love that winter map ! I bought that Snowmerdinger the first time they come out with this idea , and i was really really enjoying playing this winter map with this skin ! :D Omg , i just dont understand why did they didnt keep it ... and btw , love your optimist thought . I keep thinking like you !

I would love to see the themed maps make a comeback, the bilgewater event definitely was a step in the right direction, I'd really like to see more like it in the future. Holiday maps would be a great start.

Yeah i remember these. It was the best seeing summoners rift in snow. I'm pretty sure the Harrowing is coming for Halloween today, does anyone know at what time though? I hope There's runes, skins, icons, etc. hopefully for Christmas to.

So many other games feature event modes and maps, and it's a shame Riot hasn't done this for years especially for Christmas. It's going to be a matter of time before people get even more bored of just Summoner's Rift tbh. Putting a winter map would truly make things much more exciting and memorable truly!

I definitely support this. Would love to see this map back and more! Please Riot!
