How about a Paladin?

I keep wondering if there is space for a warrior who fights with holy magic (if holy magic does even exist in Runeterra, but it should considering that there is shadow and unholy magic).

And I'm not talking about something like Garen (who just happens to wear magic armor and have a magic sword while even him doesn't know about it), not like Leona (sun magic and more on the tankish side) nor Kayle (not at least her current incarnation who looks like a generalistic angel character, her rework is going to put her under the Ascended category which could mean Sun/Space magic again) nor as Taric (even though he'd be the closest if he didn't use Star magic).

Either make him a Demacian of the Radiant Order who discovers holy magic and channels it in battle and against necromantic/dark arts.

I think the paladin fantasy is fulfilled by the champs you listed - Garen Leona and Taric. There's not really a need to have another version of the archetype in the game, especially since the society that would potentially spawn this kind of character, Demacia, doesn't seem to have a religion or any kind of spiritual presence.

I hear you, on the one hand, but I think the reason we don't have one is to avoid the trope. Taric is more interesting than the type of paladin you are asking for because he's tied to specifically Runeterran elements, locations, and factions.

Leona and Taric are aspects, demigods fueled by Targonian magic.

Since they fight for gods via godly magic, they are both Paladins.
