Youta, Gaurdian of the Light
This is a pretty long post. Its about a champion I was thinking could be implemented into the game. These abilities are not finalized and they aren't the only versions I have. They are, however, the versions that I would like to see put together in one champion.
Lore - Youta was born and raised by a poor family in Ionia. Never having enough to get by, but always having hope, Youta became a very kindhearted and optimistic child. In his later teens, Youta and his family were attacked, and only he survived. Jhin walked up to the boy and said to him "You shine with a beautiful light. I'll have to watch your performance another time." and walked away humming. Youta was outraged by the deaths of his family members, but knew that there was nothing he could do. Seeking help he first tried to meet with Karma, so that he could seek a way to lose his anger. Karma, however, would not meet with him. He instead set out to find and train with Master Yi, in hopes that he could one day get revenge if nothing else. Yi agreed to train him on the condition that he forget his grief. "You'll never learn my teachings if you only want them for vengeance. That is a lesson I learned long ago." Youta stormed off, outraged that such a noble fighter would expect him to forgive such a horrible deed. Hiking through the mountains, Youta saw a glimpse of light in the forest. He wove himself in and out of trees, chasing the light he saw. Eventually he reached a clearing, and found in the center a solid black blade in a dark wooden sheath. He picked up the sword and went to free the blade, but somebody pressed a hand on his shoulder stopping him. "That is my sword. It holds great power that could steal the life of somebody so dull. Or are you, perhaps, bright? Tell me, what did you come to this clearing for" Youta turned to see nothing. Absolutely nothing. The trees and mountains were gone, there was no sky and no ground. All he could see was white everywhere. "A man with a mask killed my family. I wanted enlightenment, and was refused. So I sought vengeance and meet the same end. Now, I seek a home. I saw a light as I passed the trees, and was pulled to follow it, as if I must." A tall woman with pale skin and blonde hair revealed herself. She smiled and placed a necklace around Youtas neck. Suddenty everything around them appeared again, and Youta was alone with only the necklace, the sword, the clothes on his body, and the trees. Youta went back to Master Yi and apologized, however, Masater Yi refused to teach him Wuju. "Visit Soraka. That sword is not an artifact I should teach you. A celestial would have to do that." When Youta gave Yi a confused face, Yi continued "Soraka told me that a man would come with a woven pendant and a pitch sword. She asked me to direct them to her." Youta did as he was instructed and searched for Soraka. Once he found her she informed him that the blade once belonged to a powerful goddess who shared her light with all, but could do so no longer due to a weakening in her power, and that the sword would give that power to whomever could wield it and not burn. Soraka taught him how to train, but only watched as he taught himself to wield and use the blade. Once he was trained, Soraka recommended he join the league, informing him "The killer you seek is Jhin, and he is there. I do not ask you to take vengeance but to attempt to make peace. There is some reason he did not kill you as well young light." Youta responded "He told me why. It is only now that I understand. Now that I know who I am. He saw this in me all along... You shine with a beautiful light. I'll have to watch your performance another time."
Abilities
- Passive - Goddesses Light or Light of the Goddess
The Goddess grants Youta sight, making him immune to all blinds and increasing his vision in the fog of war. Any enemy champions damaged by Youta are afflicted with light, stacking 3 times, and granting vision for 3 seconds.
When an enemy reaches 3 stacks of light they are instead given the debuff Luminance.
If an enemy dies while afflicted with Luminance, the enemy grants vision around where they died for 3 seconds. Any enemies in this area during the cast are given one stack of light.
- Q - Luminous Strike
Youta swings his blade infront of him, dealing (XX% AP) magic damage to all enemies and blinding first 3 champions hit for 2 seconds.
Luminance Enemies hit by Luminous Strike with Luminance take a bonus 50% damage from this ability. The Luminance is destroyed.
- W - Healing Rays
Youta calls the light of the Goddess, dealing (XX% Youtas bonus hp) magic damage and heals himself for the amount dealt. If Healing Rays kills the target the cooldown is refereshed.
Luminance If targeted enemy has Luminance, Healing Rays deals true damage, and Youta is healed for double the amount dealt. The Luminance is destroyed.
- E - Diverting/Pilfering Rays
Diveriting Rays - Youta becomes immune to all damage, but cannot deal damage until he reactives the ability or ignores damage equal to his maximum health.
Luminance If an enemy within Youtas attack range has Luminance, Youta instead casts Pilfering Rays. The Luminance is destroyed.
Pilfering Rays - Youta steals an enemies ultimate ability, keeping them from casting it until he does. Youta loses the ability if he does not start the cast within 5 seconds. All affects of the stolen ultimate (damage, slows, heals, movespeed buff time, invulnerability buff time) are reduced by 50% and the cooldown of Diverting/Pilfering Rays is doubled.
- R - Ultimate sight
Youta destroys the fog of war for enemies and allies for X seconds. Any champions within Youtas attack range are granted XX% bonus movement speed.
Luminance If any enemy has Luminance, Youta instead only destroys the fog of war for his allies, and anybody within the range. The Luminance, and all stacks of light, are destroyed.
