Champion Suggestion: Kyra Neth

I've made three Champion ideas that incorporate some kind of theme that isn't shown in LoL. Some abilities might seem broken or weak but maybe you guys can offer some feedback. I have not included mana costs or ability scalings as I simply don't know what would be balanced, so I've instead opted to give the ability ideas and who knows, maybe someone at Riot might like the idea and implement it in some form or another. Either way I hope you enjoy reading:

Champion Idea Kyra Neth: The Broken Guardian

Appearance

Kyra is a slim girl, with long arms and legs and chalk-white skin. Turqoise veins criss-cross along her body, giving her skin the appearance of transparency. Black hair falls down to her shoulders, neatly tied behind her in a ponytail. She wears black carapace armour that glistens purple as if coated with oil, similar to the shell of a beetle. This covers her torso and legs, but not her arms. It is flexible and functional, with no ornate designs or wasted material.

Bio

Salyra is a land of broken kingdoms and extinct Spellcasters. Kyra is the last of a race that was inherently born with magic, exterminated by the magic-hating survivors of the old war.

Born in a village that held the last of her people, Kyra was only two years old when a magic-infused soldier burned her home to the ground, incinerating her people and cursing them to an eternity of agony as their flesh burned off only to regrow and be ignited again. After witnessing such a horrific event, Kyra grew up to avoid combat, preferring to hide in the colossal city of Savon and its many alleyways and underground caves. After years of supressing her innate magical ability, she escaped Savon after accidentally revealing her power in a crowded marketplace, narrowly avoiding a very public and painful execution.

Fleeing to a small village called Saro she took up residence in an old shrine, long abandoned and forgotten by the people. There she honed her abilities, discovering ways to heal and protect others. Over time she helped make these abilities subtle, to avoid people fearing her magic.

In time, she met a boy named Aren, a Spellcaster like her. They partnered up, travelling the land and helping as many people as they could, before a horrifying event caused a rip in their universe to spill into Runeterra, and an ancient evil poured forth to destroy another world.

With her pledge to help those in need, Kyra plunged forth, ready to protect all who need saving from the nameless terrors of the world.

Summary

Kyra is a Support mage whose power lies in protective wards. With no damaging abilities at all, she relies heavily on whoever she is partnered with, granting substantial bonuses with an effect on the team in a non-combative way. Despite having no damaging abilities, AP is still a very viable path for itemisation, as good scaling with her abilities results in more potency for her auras, orbs and ultimate.

The aim behind this champion is to offer alternative abilities that offer huge benefits from a character that does not like fighting. Her strength is in the buffs that she can grant to allies, and offers a unique playstyle that is not seen in LoL. Auras are not fun, and being an aura machine (like old Sona) is not entertaining. By adding activatable abilities to her auras and making them have different health and mana costs results in an interesting dynamic that would make her entertaining to play. There is a strategy behind which ability to place on which champion that doesn't rely on actually hitting the enemy (do you place your W on a champion that dives in on enemies to keep them alive, heavily risking your own life, or do you place it on a backline champion in case they get focused later on in a fight?).

Abilities

Passive: Warded Kyra uniquely reacts to wards. Stealth wards grant her and her allies bonus health and mana regeneration, while vision wards grant bonus AD and AP. Bonuses of the same type do not stack (you can't place three stealth wards and recieve the buff x3). This only applies to wards Kyra places herself. [Wards now grant more than just vision. Kyra can now ward in the middle of team fights to give direct bonuses to her allies. This creates an interesting dynamic where allies can choose to fight near wards to get the bonuses in order to have an advantage.]

Q: Pledge to Protect (10, 8, 6sec CD) Kyra places a floating blue orb on an ally that grants a shield based off her AP. The shield only activates when within a certain vicinity of Kyra, and quickly dissipates when they leave. If the shield is broken by enemy damage, it will not reactivate until no damage has been taken for [6] seconds. Reactivating the ability will send out a short pulse that knocks back enemies within a close vicinity of the allied champion, but only if the shield has not been broken. This orb remains with the ally until Kyra places it on someone else. Only one ally may have this shield at a time. Kyra can place this on herself. This cannot be stacked with her W. [Kyra is all about protection. This shield simply blocks damage, granting no bonuses while promoting a "stay near the healer" attitude to whoever has the shield. The floating orb also acts as a visual "target" for the enemy to focus in a fight, ensuring that the shield does not refresh itself.]

W: This Will Hurt... (3sec CD) Kyra applies a green orb to an allied champion. When that ally takes damage, a portion of the damage is transferred to Kyra instead (the amount of damage Kyra receives from this transfer is reduced by her AP, though the damage that is actually transferred remains the same). Activating the ability again grants bonus magic resistance and armour to the allied champion. This orb remains with the ally until Kyra places it on someone else. This ability only activates when within a certain proximity to Kyra. This cannot be applied to herself, however when targeting herself and pressing W, the orb will disappear from the allied champion, thus disabling it. This cannot be stacked with her Q. Kyra can be killed by this. [A very risky ability. Forgetting who this is on will result in Kyra dying, so careful management is required for this to be beneficial.]

E: Amberlight (20, 18, 16, 14, 12sec CD) Kyra produces a small amber shard that lights up around her, granting truesight and a healing wave that gradually restores allied champion's health. Kyra is slowed by [20%] while channeling this ability. Standing still increases the potency of the heal. Lasts for [5] seconds. Any form of CC will stop the channel. [A potent heal when standing still, this ability can be used to reveal traps or invisible champions. However, the fragility of the ability can result in the lengthy cooldown being triggered before truly being utilised.]

R: THEY ARE UNDER MY PROTECTION (200, 180, 160sec CD) All allies around Kyra are bathed in a green glow, granting bonus armour and magic resistance. Enemies within the radius have their armour and magic resistance lowered, with the amount drained equivilent to the amount granted to Kyra and her allies. This ability drains Kyra's health until the ability is reactivated and disabled, or if she reaches 1hp, at which point it will disable automatically. [Another risky ability, but with huge teamfight-turning potential. The health-drain of this ability promotes a back-seat during a fight, however to maximise the effectiveness of such an ability Kyra must be near the thick of the action.]

You have a great idea here. I love how much you have developed your character, and also how very unique she is. I dont know if riot will use this or not, but either way good job. Speaking as a support main this character sounds like a lot of fun, AND a change of pace from the usual supports. I really do hope riot finds a home for your champ in runeterra :)

-Keep being creative!-

If you switch the R in Kyra and the N in Neth you get Kynareth, the god from Skyrim. Nice.

I like this idea but I feel like people are going to focus her easily. Since she has no damaging spells and minimal crowd control, she might be very squishy unless you build health.

I really like this idea; though she should probably have some form of escape, considering she has no way to survive an encounter if she's found alone.
