I was going to start my top lane A-Z series however it looks like I got autofilled as support, So I did a Freak the Meta instead, and played Azir Support. Subscribe if you want to see more!
I actually like Azir support! I've played it a few times myself and it's surprisingly strong. With Ancient Coin being as good as it is, this only helps Azir since his mana costs are abysmal. Frost Queen's Claim is technically better since he benefits from the bonus on-spell damage (+15/hit isn't anything to sneeze at with Soldiers), but Coin is hard to miss out on for the gold and mana.
Azir support is essentially a kill support: take it with an ADC that has some follow-up and go for some level 2 kills. Rarely will the enemies be able to out-trade you since Azir hits like a truck. At level 6, Azir can Shurima Shuffle his way into the backline easily and punch the enemy ADC into the friendly AD (and jung for max kill potential), guaranteeing a kill or double summs.
