I just thought of this, but what if Riot were to re-work Annie and also make her older with the re-work. I know this would never happen, but wouldn't that be cool?

No, don't rework her - create a teenager / adult Annie that Zilean brought back from the future. Give her a completely different kit. You could also do adult Gnar, give Yi a new apprentice that comes back with his style, bring some Noxians from the future also - could be a good story arc.
