The weapons were fully 3D printed and took me about four-five months to complete! The gradient work on Fishbones was done by hand, including the detail painting, and PowPow was airbrushed with automotive paint.

Poor Zap can't be seen, but he's there! I'll have more pictures with him showing him. He lights up beautifully-I actually had to rewire him twice because the first time, the wires were too large to fit inside his barrel.

Next League projects are: Pool Party Leona and Star Guardian Lux. I've also already done Spellthief Lux!

Follow my work if you wish! I'll post streaming/posting prop and costume creation soon if anyone ever wanted to get into the world of cosplaying. :)

Edit: Photo of Zap now available! Also 3D printed. Wish it was darker so you could see it light up, but that's sometimes hard to transition into photos.

Holy shit, that's some of the best jinx cosplay I've seen. Great job.

For your next project I think It would be cool if you took pictures of the whole process along the way and maybe made a video or something explaining the finer points and difficulties to creating the costumes. Idk maybe its just me but as much as I like seeing the finished product, I always enjoy watching it being built and all of the effort put in to the project.

Also not as relevant but it needs to be said anyways, very hot.

I was taking photos and putting them in a WIP album up until the final moments because I was on a real crunch time for PAX East!

I'll make sure to document how to 3D model, sanding and painting techniques, wiring, etc. when I work on Star Guardian Lux, since I'll be 3D printing pieces for her staff as well as vacuum forming the star and doing the lighting.

Anyone commenting on the physique of the cosplayer or saying that she doesn't have the proper 'body type' should be downvoted, ingored, and payed no mind. They obviously have no understanding or appreciation for cosplay as an art form. This is a flawless recreation of the character.

A friend of mine lives about two hours away from me and he does prop commissions! After he made my Weiss sword from RWBY for me because I was on a crunch, I asked him if he would be willing to teach me how to 3D model and 3D print, including assembling and painting.

Dude was super sweet and basically let me come and use his printer to print the files we made.

It was printed on a Rostock MAX and he spins his own plastic filament so it's actually decently cheaper to make!

you can get a 3d printer for like $500 now they aren't that expensive anymore

Yeah, but the cheaper ones tend to be more crummy, break more often, and have such small printing dimensions that the majority of your builds (If you're not making small trinkets) will need to be chopped into A BUNCH of pieces, and sometimes if you're building things with bigger single pieces like Fishbones is, you create a problem with having to fill seams and weakness at the seam.

The one I used is: http://www.seemecnc.com/products/rostock-max-complete-kit

$1000 for the complete kit, but it's got great dimensions and the kit comes with the upgraded parts so the nozzle won't catch like the old versions did.

how many pieces did it takes to build the guns? and how much material did you use to make both guns?

All the big bulky pieces were printed on their own without having to split them. Fishbones was much less than that. I want to say, not including the fines, the main body was split into two/three major pieces that slotted into one another.

and how did you make this? Was there a site you downloaded the file of the 2 guns from then printed it?

Only FIshbones was printed using a pre-made model due to time constraints. Zap and FIshbones were 3D modeled on Rhino3D and sliced for printing!

So you're only looking at her physical figure and not all the countless micro-details, wigs, makeup, and the fact that she made all of this herself? Really?

Do you even know what cosplay is? She got it fine anyways, she looks A LOT like her. While I can be frank and say yes, her bust is larger then Jinx's in game, who really cares? its still a great cosplay, and the costume is done exceptionally well, as are the weapons. You don't gotta be so critical man, there probably was a nicer way for you to say, "He, it all looks great but I can't help but feel your bust and body type is slightly larger then Jinx's!" (again, who really cares, great cosplay either way)

Idk, that seems better to me then the way you put it.

You misunderstand. She has boobs. Jinx does not have boobs. I would not cosplay as Sona because I do not have boobs. It's a simple as that.

Saw her at PAX and have to say that it was extremely well done. In particular to those complaining about the Jinx vibe, the photo does not do justice to how creepy/crazy the contacts made her eyes look.

I really like this cosplay and it looks like you had a ton of fun with it ^_^ the only issue I can see is that your expression looks rather cute-sy and absent minded rather than the thrilled giddiness Jinx typically shows, that and fish-bones looks a little....off, I don't really know how to describe it so my apologies. Although with it being hand-painted it looks ASTOUNDINGLY good, the rest of the cosplay looks like it popped right out of the game!

But the most important part is that you had fun, right?
