Gragas Rework Idea [Fanmade]

Hi, i'm Balto and i'm here to introduce you one of my ideas for a potential Gragas rework that would fit better the champion (in my opinion). Before continuing, i hope you forgive me for my bad english ... i'm sry

Gragas stores mugs of beer https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/HuC0y7R.png in a special slot of his inventory (3 total) He can drink a mug in 0.5 seconds while moving [becoming inable to cast his abilities for the duration]

Every mugs restore** (+17%Missing health) (+4%Ap) Health**

CD - 50 seconds

Gragas rolls a cask to the target location, making it bounce in the middle of the way At the end or if an enemy champion is hit when the cask touch the ground, it explodes

The enemies hit by the explosion are SLOWED (45/50/55/60/75%) for 2 seconds The slow effect will decay over the duration

DMG - 75/105/135/165/195 (+60%Ap) Magic Damage CD - 12/11/10/9/8

Gragas smash two unused mugs of beer on the head of the target The area affected is an arc forward him and a round area around the target

The enemies hit in the area around the selected target are STUNNED for 0.75 seconds

Gragas gets drunk and empowered, taking less damage (15%) for the next 8 seconds Every basic attack deals bonus damage in a straight line behind the target

Drinking a mug of beer https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/HuC0y7R.png extends the duration of this ability by 4 seconds While drinking the ability effect timer is paused

DMG - (+1.5/2/2.5%Target's maximum health) (+1%Target's maximum health for 100 Ap) Magic Damage CD - 90/80/70

I don't think Gragas is one of the champions that need rework right now. This passive is quite creative but it would be better to add it to a future champion and I'd prefer if it'd be a spell rather than the passive. As a spell, it could aid in sustain and could also scale but I think that as a passive it would be quite useless in late where you anyway build some health regen,you have slained some Ocean Dragon or you have a support in team-fights.

P: I think it’d be too strong if he went heavy Ap/Hp Items like liandrys/protobelt/morello/RoA, How about have it heal by 17% of missing health+4% AP scaling? I ask for it to heal missing health because it’d be insane to heal instantly (you said like a potion but didn’t pinpoint if it healed over time or instantly) for hp that much that quickly on a full ap gragas or a full tank gragas P.S. this would give him too much sustain in the jungle as well so since he can hold3 at a time let’s increase it from 30s to 50s a mug

Q:Let’s lower the base damages a bit on all ranks from 80/120/160/200/240 to 75/105/135/165/195 I lowered his base damage and not his ap scaling to help prevent early game burst and to prevent a full tank gragas from doing amazing damage throughout the game, a hybrid tank/ap gragas would be much more balanced imo for his desired role as a psuedo diver/burst mage P.S. Make that slow decaying as well

W:This skill confuses me, so it hits in a cone in front of the user,ok , when it hits the enemy it deals splash damage around the enemy hit, ok, but THEN you state it pushes enemies(plural) towards the target( as in, the targetted enemy champion as if it was some sort of point and click skill?) Sounds extremely nutty to me

E: remove the “if hits an enemy,reduce cooldown by 3s” besides that I’m pretty fine with it

R: Every single basic attack will deal 3-5% max target hp damage? and he’s able to use his skills too??? his ult is like an empowered autos mode but he’s an AP mage with melee autos which sounds rather odd plus he’s vulnerable to being bursted when he has to stop and drink from his passive to prolong his ulti duration?? Doesn’t this ultimate sound odd to you? I’d scrap this ultimate idea and build a new one from scratch

Don't forget the new Gragas lore:

"Lorthas and his 2 husbands were drinking at an ancient powerful pub on Targon. However, they were ambushed, and to save them, he had to drink a cursed brew. The barrel's name was Gragas, a Darkin, and Lorthas drank deep from Gragas, and fused with his two husbands too for some reason along with Gragas." [WIP]

It explains why Gragas is so fat, and adds another Darkin legend. Bow, Sword, Scythe, Barrel, leaving one final weapon.

I really do not think that Gragas needs a rework as his current kit is fairly strong with a decent amount of utility that can make him an impactful champ in almost any iteration of the game and a strong one in most meta's. I personally feel that your rework is focused on moving Gragas back to a lane dominate champion and out of the jungle which is possibly why you do not feel the current form of Gragas is a good fit for the champion. I noticed this primarily from the changes you made to the passive, Q, and ultimate. (The E is seemly unchanged)

In your rework, the passive is really just his current passive, but in the form of a potion, with the added downfall of not only being weaker, as it restores health over time and has a much longer cooldown, but also has the additional clunkiness of an extra keybinding to activate it.

The Q is relatively similar to his current Q, the only difference is that now it bounces in the middle of its roll (making me assume it travels a great distance as to assist in the poke and cs of a laning phase) and will always do full damage (so you eliminated the fermentation idea of the alcohol in the barrel)

Lastly, the ultimate is kind of just a souped-up version of his current W and the new W is a weaker version of his current ultimate resulting in a much more difficult way of displacing his enemies.

In conclusion, while I do agree that your rework certainly does make him more of a brawler with the change to his ultimate aligning himself more with his theme/lore as a rabble-rouser, I simply cannot find myself agreeing with the other changes you made as it leaves him in a much weaker state in comparison to other bruiser-style champions. (Right now Gragas is more of a tank with lots of team-fight disruptive abilities and a higher amount of burst damage than most other tanks, not so much a bruiser as he is an engage/disengage tool for his team)
