Order up!

Have you ever thought of something like the courier in DOTA2?

It's very useful and can be killed - except, the DOTA2 Courier is way too fast once upgraded and feels a little cheap. I know the two games are different in quite a few ways, but give this post some feedback and what you think.

Maybe we can call them "Orders" where you can "Order" an item from the shop. It is then sent with a special creep that replaces a set amount of creeps in a wave for the lane you are in. The amount of creep replaced depends on how much the item you ordered is.

"How can I 'Order' an item?" --You'd click on your local turret like you would the shop. You can place an order for the item you want at an added percentage fee on top of the cost of the ordered item. The "Order" will be "Shipped" on the next wave of creep.

"How will the creep know what lane I am in?" -- The creep the item is sent with will go to the tower you ordered the item from. You will have a time limit to pick up the item. If you do not retrieve the item before the timer runs out, it will be in the shop waiting for you in a box. Should probably put a pick-up fee if you miss it.

"Oh, but what if the creep carrying the item dies?" -- Idk... The item is then lost in the void and you're returned a portion of the gold you spent on the item.

"What if I want more than 1 item?" -- Order it. They'll come one wave at a time starting with the first item ordered.

"What if more than 1 person order an item?" -- Then the lanes have less creep to help defend against enemies. Order wisely!

A controversial point of this idea is that it also denies your opponent gold and exp. It also leaves your turret vulnerable to pushes. I know this may cause uproar and dismissal of the idea, but again, hear me out.

One thing that can be done to give the opponent incentive to push or to take advantage of the orders you make is to give them 1 - 5 slightly more tanky creep. Their health will increase, but will either give the same or less amount of gold/exp.

Another incentive to push or take advantage of your opponent's orders is to have the turret give extra gold equal to the fees taken from the orders.

If this idea interests you, please upvote it and share your feedback. I think it's a good idea, but it is also 2:25AM and I'm at work... GG.

We have free recalling. That's why Dota 2 has couriers and we don't. Also, the map is smaller.
