Invisible Status @Rito
Since I personally don't have a PBE account to provide feedback on the new League client update, I might as well post it here.
I know this has probably been brought up a few times in the past and yet I don't believe there has been a response from the Riot team about this suggestion, at least not that I've seen. I believe there should be an "invisible status" in the client or rather an option to be invisible to a certain person. And before anyone says anything about "why don't you just decline", it's not like everyone is 'socially capable' of doing this, sadly. It doesn't hurt anyone to have it. I have some friends/acquaintances in real life in my friends list and while it seems more appropriate to just say 'no', in certain circumstances, it might send a bit of a negative vibe really. Especially if I tell them that I don't want to play with them or I'd rather be alone. I don't want to lie about it either. Sometimes I want to play with another person, or by myself without any of them coming to me after my game asking me why they weren't invited. Then you feel bad and you don't know what to say.
Yes, they still can go to your match history and check (if they're THAT anxious), but it puts less stress into having to deal with it after every game, because I'm sure there are a ton of people who don't do that -- "Oh man, they played at 3:42pm last Friday the 5th, I was online that time until 6:21pm! He was offline when I checked. That must mean he must dislike me, and is ignoring me!"
A lot of social media messengers, Facebook, MSN, Skype, they all have this feature. If the LoL community is emphasizing a social aspect in its current agenda, then this feature should definitely be implemented to atone for those who aren't as social as others, those who take a more loner route in gaming. It really doesn't hurt anyone to have it, whether you're one to use it or not. The "busy" status doesn't help at all because busy or not, it still says whether you're in-game. The "block" feature also doesn't help at all because blocking people forces you to delete your friends. And once they find out you deleted them, then let the unnecessary drama come in. Let's be honest, there are people who just can't accept something without saying a word. But what if I don't want to delete my friend, and I just want to block them for a temporary amount of time? Keeping in mind the fact that this friend could be a really good friend, a family member or an acquaintance who you just don't want to start a specific impression with.
