Game Mode: Battleground
I know Riot will never use anything from the community, but I've been thinking about alternate game modes I wish existed in LoL and wanted to write this out.
Objective: Capture and hold forts to generate enough victory points to win, or to have more points than the enemy team by the end of the match.
Features:
Forts
- There are 5 forts on the map. Four are interspersed and one is in the center.
- Each captured fort spawns minions. This can help create pressure on lanes, but also inversely feed the enemy team as you gain ground.
- Forts are captured by having (more) friendly champions remain in proximity than enemy champions.
- Each fort starts with a defending turret. Enemy forts cannot be captured if their turrets aren't first destroyed.
Towers
- Tower's can be rebuilt for 500g gold. Construction can be refunded for 50% of the cost, but only if the purchasing champion is within range, and it isn't destroyed first.
- Towers can upgraded for gold, giving them more durability and damage. The first upgrade is 500g, and the cost increases by another 500g for each level.
- Towers can be targeted with offensive champion abilities (except for those which logically wouldn't affect an inanimate object).
- Towers can be rebuilt to -1 of the last upgrade level completed for 500g (for each team respectively).
Economy
- Gold will not accrue over time and can only be farmed through killing minions and champions.
