Why would the tribunal come back when the system we have now is faster, more efficient and consistent

It's faster, sure. But is speed really what the main focus should be on when deciding whether or not to ban an account? It shouldn't take WEEKS definitely, but surely we don't need to deal punishment within 15min of the report....

I wouldn't say more efficient, though. The Tribunal was still efficient in that it allowed players to play jury, and take on much of the man-hours from Riot staff. I'd also argue it's more accurate, in that it allows for a jury of peers to decide guilt whereas the current system is an attempt to program morality into an automated system, which deals punishment with no peer review.

With speed the fact is. Thousands of reports are coming in constantly from games all around the world. If it takes a long time for a report to be dealt with, the newer reports will just stack and stack and stack until we have months worth of reports that haven't been dealt with. With a smaller scale, the speed wouldn't be as important. But with 8 million active players, the system needs to be as fast as it can be

But the problem with letting the players play jury is the fact that the same players aren't going to review all cases, it's going to be many different players. And not everyone has the same opinion about what's toxic and what's not. So the punishments wouldn't be consistent. With the system we have now, it's 1 bot that reviews all of the reports with the same guidelines so the punishments will be more consistent For chat toxicity, the system we have now works really well For gameplay related offenses, tribunal would most likely be better because it's really hard for the system to truly know if someone was inting But the question is, would people do that work for riot? Would they just review reports for fun instead of playing the game? I mean, I know i would, but i'm pretty sure most people aren't like me. So how could we guarantee that the reports would be dealt with in an acceptable time frame? I'd love to use the tribunal, i would honestly enjoy it. But for the most part, bringing back tribunal isn't a good idea, at least bringing it back fully

Tribunal has been gone for years and years. They continually make improvements to the Instant Feedback System we have now, so I don't think they will be going back to it.
