Rift Herald Replacement Ideas

Alright, so when it comes to rift herald, I believe that Riot was trying to make a macro-game objective that isn't all powerful, but could have an impact if used tactically. Given rift herald has been changed constantly I figure it is safe to throw our own ideas in.

-Rift Herald Buff Ideas- Generally, with the time it takes to kill it, Rift herald should give some gold to refund the missed wave that they spend to get the buff, so perhaps 50-100~ gold.

As for the actual buff...

  • +1 ward capacity
  • Turret damage reduction of outter/inner turrets
  • cheaper control wards
  • Mild summoner spell cdr (5%)
  • ward vision range buff
  • wards last longer

I'd be curious to see what everyone else thinks. I like the idea of buffing vision control though.

I feel like the design intent was actually closer to "design an objective that appeals to the solo top-lane player: the sort who will be happy to split-push alone and be self-sufficient for much of the game."

That sort of player has a few things for them: Teleport, Zz'Rot Portal, items like BoRK that can be used to help you escape, etc. Rift Herald gives them a nice objective they care about...at least in theory.
