Should Riot make an Anime?

I have watched this video and my second thought was :"This is a good level of animation. They should maybe make an Anime." Some month later, I was "sitting" in a ts channel with my friends, and I just said :" You all know the Burning Bright (Star Guardian) music video? - yeah - I think Riot should make an Anime, beause it's pretty good animated - yes pls!" So I want to know if Riot wants or even think about doing an Anime and if you (community) would like it, too

I'm surprised this has been up for an hour without a "fuk you fuckin cancer weeb" post.

+1 to the suggestion, by the way, at least on a conceptual level.

No.. Because Riot will be too busy with their anime show to work on their game.

This is probably a relevant quote. "Ideas are the easy part—everyone has great game ideas that would likely be fun if they could become a reality—the really hard part is actually building an incredible product and executing on the idea sufficiently to ensure the experience actually matches the potential that the initial idea promised. League MMO where?! League movie, where?! Those ideas are beautiful when they are in all of our heads, but realizing the full potential of ideas like those is what is really difficult to do. So what does that mean for the future of League and for Riot? We do know a few things for certain. We’ll continue to evolve League of Legends as a holistic experience—we’ll keep improving the competitive side of the game while continuing to enrich the universe around the game. We’ll continue to evolve and improve the League Esports ecosystem to try to ensure League remains a global sport that lasts for generations. Beyond League, we aspire to deliver a handful of other games that we hope players love. Just like with League of Legends, we’re less concerned about mass market appeal and are more interested in deeply serving the audience the game is trying to delight." http://nexus.leagueoflegends.com/2016/12/ask-riot-leagues-future-and-luxs-q/

Personally I think it woudl be a bad idea, here is why. -Anime is reliant on good story line (good writers) to make it interesting to people that don't play the game. I don't riot have writers of the caliber needed to make an anime, just take a look at the current lore that they are struggling. For a game this is fine thou, many games focus on mechanics and just buy a cheap script for the sake of it (most of the fighting games does this) -Anime is a niche market. In japan represent less than 7% and is even less on europe and america. While is true that games and anime usually overlap their audiences the amount of people that woudl see it that is not already playing the game woudl be very low, which I think it woudl be the main idea behind the anime (attract more players) -Good anime is expensive, making 6h worth of animation of the quality of the 2 min video woudl be way too expensive for an anime not intended to be sold as their main revenue.

But what would the story be? Who's going to be the villain? What would the world of Valoran look like in that timeline? Anime needs more than just good animation.

I say they should. However they'd need a completely new department or they can just have a different company make their show (ex. Bard cinematic). If they do make something like this my one issue is just clarity. Like when Darius Q's in game against a Teemo it doesn't do that much but in real life a giant axe swung into Teemo would basically be really bloody.

Yes! An anime based on lore

No. They should make a series of movies, following the collaboration with Marvel.
