Passive: Blood Well Static Cooldown: Based on ultimate level (175/150/125) Whenever Aatrox consumes a portion of his health, he stores it into his Blood Well, which can hold 25% - 50% (based on level) of max health. The Blood Well depletes by 10% every 5 seconds out of battle.

Aatrox gains 0,4% bonus attack speed for every 1% in his Blood Well.

Upon taking fatal damage, Aatrox is cleansed of all debuffs and enter stasis for 3 seconds (can be cancelled early). During stasis Aatrox is healing himself for 50% of base max. health + 100% of Blood Well's stored health.


Q: Blade's Shadow/Blade's Call Range: 650 / 1000 Cost: 5% Current Health for every cast Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/10

1st cast: Aatrox throws a shadow of his blade (radius 650) to target location dealing magic damge to all units it passed through. Upon landing the Blade's shadow becomes targetable for (1/0,5/0,25 seconds) (3/2/1) hits to destroy) and providing vision.

2nd cast: Blade calls to Aatrox (radius 1000) making him fly to it dealing physical damage upon landing to all units in a radius (225) and knocking them up for 0,1 second.

1st cast damage: 70/115/160/205/250 (+50% AP) 2nd cast damage: 50/80/110/140/180 (+50% AD)

W: Blood Thirst/Blood Price Same as live

E: Blades of torment Cost: 10% of current health Cooldown: 12/11/10 ACTIVE: Aatrox unleaches two converging energy waves in the target direction, dealing magic damage to all units and slowing them by 30/40/50% for 1,75/2/2,25. Energy waves upon converging releases a powerful blast dealing physical damage to all units in a small radius (125)

Magic Damage: 75/110/145/180/215 (+60% AP) Physical Damage: 75/110/145/180/215 (+60% bonus AD)

R: Massacre Cooldown: Activable only when Blood Well is not on cooldown Range: 1000 ACTIVE: Aatrox Shout for his Blade to deal Massacre. During Shout (0,2) all units in range are slowed (50%/75%/99%). After Shout Aatrox mortally wound himself by stabing through his heart to empower his Blade. Aatrox upon reviving by Blood Well receive Massacre buff for 5/7/9 seconds.

Massacre Buff:

  • Aatrox abilities cooldown is lowered by 2 second for every enemy champion affected by Shout
  • Aatrox basic attacks deals bonus 10% of his total AD as True Damage for every enemy champion affected by Shout.
  • If Aatrox kill (assist does not count) enemy champiion, massacre buff is prolonged by additional 2 seconds.

Aatrox doesn't need a full rework.

He needs touching up. More base attack range. He has a giant sword, and he's a huge monster, with pathetic 150 melee range. Meanwhile Yorick with a shovel, Tahm Kench with is tongue, and Trundle get 175 melee range.

Quality of life on his passive in terms of the amount of HP he gets after he is out of stasis, because it always seems like he gets 'killed', and then the enemy waits to 1 shot him immediately. (Especially with his Q being cancel-able so easy )

His Q needs some quality of life. The channel time is kind of ridiculous, especially since it can easily be canceled. If it were more instant, or if he were immune to crowd control while going up or something. The tiny area in which enemies get knocked up, after the big build up... please...

It would be more appropriate for his Ult to apply a fear to all enemies hit, while keeping it basically the same.

Honestly, I can't wait for another Darkin champion to be released, and some small updates to Aatrox's kit, and maybe some voice lines. Especially if a couple of other champions were to get Darkin skins (going with the theme of being weapons, Braum could be a shield Darkin skin, Poppy with a Darkin Hammer, Varus with a Darkin bow, Darius/Draven with Darkin Axe(s), and Jax with... any weapon I guess...)

The Idea for this rework is superb, but the ratio's and damage on both halves of the new Q and E are over the top. Aatrox, even currently doesn't really have much of an issue with damage because most of it comes from auto attacks. I think that it is indeed a good idea for him to have more spells to use to damage his enemy, but these obviously need their damage toned down. I think that you could follow the path of the new-esque right changes and lower the base damages but raise the ratios to compensate so that an Aatrox who played well and got items is rewarded. However, this is a slippery slope because it could easily end up being too snowbally. Other than that I think this is a very interesting idea which leaves the core of the champion untouched while addressing his main issues at the moment.Aatrox

What if aatrox's ult would be somehthing like he drops things that allies can click and then they would sacrifice some hp and aatrox can reactivate his ult to give his allies buffs to all allies based on how many allies sacrificed to him(the strength of it could be better with mroe allies sacrificed)

It's his E that is the problem, it's garbage, if you are gonna rework something rework that.

Also take those stats out of health regen, and that 50 hp tbh and put it in more base armor.

The rest if fine I guess, tbh I like current aatrox and all I really want changed is his E as it's objectively garbage, as someone who mains and succeeds with him regularly.

PS: His ult is to proc his passive? =/

That Q seems very similar to Tyrael's Q in Heroes of the Storm. It's a little different but the concept is the same.

I think that his ult both live and in this concept aren't very true to his lore. An idea that I have in mind is that he gives his allies a buff of sorts. Riot loves teamfights for some reason so giving him an aoe buff would really work well with his lore and with Riot. His W could be changed a little bit and an idea I have in mind is that when the 3rd auto hits for Blood Price he could give off an aoe attack speed buff. This wouldn't be given to Aatrox but the allies in the aoe. On the other hand Blood Thirst could heal in an aoe but not as strong as his current heal. Maybe the heal would be stronger but divided by the amount of allied champions nearby. An example would be a 500hp heal but if all of his team are in the area it would be 100 each. This could be quite strong since with an Attack Speed oriented build/runes/masteries it could be a lot of heals for his team during fights or could make Aatrox a 1v1 machine. For his ult I was thinking maybe an aoe buff that converts 2% of their Physical and 2.5% of their Magical damage into true damage or % health damage. I believe this would make Aatrox a aoe buffing machine built for teamfights.

They're just ideas though and I suck at designing champion ideas so feel free to say my ideas suck or w/e but hey I used to love Aatrox and I really hope they buff him or rework him so he's actually useful again.

As an Aatrox player myself, I don't like it, in fact it's mostly terrible because it doesn't address nor fix the current problems with Aatrox.

Passive: Sounds like passive on live, but instead of 30-50% scaling with level, it's just 40% all the time. That's fine, good idea. Making the heal more useful? VERY GOOD IDEA.

Q: Why this change? Second cast is basically Dark Flight. Both abilities would need VERY SHORT cast times for this to be an effective gap closer. It just seems like an overcomplication. Only way this becomes a good idea is if it isn't bugged like Dark Flight is right now.

W: Ok, but how does Aatrox deal damage to a tank? He's a bruiser. every other bruiser can deal damage to tanks but Aatrox. Here's an idea: Every 3rd hit, regardless of mode, Aatrox's next attack gains 50/55/60/65/70% BONUS armor pen (On hit effects on that attack use this armor pen, Ex: BoRK).

E: I've got one problem since I don't care much for the change in damage. The cost. I've already said 10% on his Q on Live is insane, same applies here. 5% health cost.

R: Hello world, here's the worst part here. Why is it bad? 1. Wastes passive, 2: requires passive, 3: makes Aatrox kiteable, when his PERFECTLY FINE ULTIMATE ON LIVE DOESN'T, 4: requires kills and not takedowns WHY??????, 5: scales with AD and not attack speed WHEN AATROX WOULD RATHER HAVE ATTACK SPEED (Aka, current ult is better.), 6: makes him want to build CDR when attack speed is his main stat but CDR and attack speed don't come together, 7: that range is insane and unhealthy, literally almost no counter play. item 3153 I'd rather have current ultimate.

This should have four steps, not three. What's the cooldown before his first level of ultimate? Does he just not revive before he gets an ult?

Why are there 3 steps here and why does it seem to get weaker?

Biggest issue I have is Q combo is Jarvan's E-Q combo, but solely on his Q. Damage on his abilities might be a tad high. I would love to actually see more than 1 Aatrox every 100 games.

No rework needed.

Passive is fine.

Dark Flight health cost could be lower.

Blood Price health cost should be reconsidered since he has to turn off sustain.

Blades of Torment is fine.

Massacre is fine.

Learn the ways of the Aatrox my friends. And stop asking for a new champion.

If you want my opinion on the rework concept, Aatrox has no need for a rework. Currently, people who have devoted their time to learning the in's and out's of this champion know what he is fully capable of. Honestly, any champion that Riot has ever touched with a rework ends up becoming flawed in numerous ways later on. Soraka, Heimderdinger, Sion, Yorick, Ryze, etc. I've been playing LoL since the end of Season 2. I can understand why the rework is taking place, but it just disappoints me to see Aatrox being reworked so that others who have not spent as much of their time learning the in's and out's of his abilities can play him. Aatrox is not weak by no means. He is not useless. Aatrox can be fully mastered by just learning the right runes and masteries to run on the champion. Also, what is with that new ultimate. Honestly, it takes away your passive upon being casted? Why is that supposed to be a good thing? The passive on this champ along with his ultimate and W are his CORE PARTS to making him who he is. Once you take away the passive vs an Aatrox, he becomes useless and scared. I don't think any other champions in the ENTIRE GAME, has to sacrifice another ability to use another in their kit. The Q concept is cool, if you like to harass with your q and e all the time. I know this just looks like a hate message for a devoted Aatrox player, but he seriously does not need to be reworked just so people who don't understand how powerful he is to start playing him. Riot has always disappointed when reworking champions... It sucks having almost no say or pre-concept notice about these kind of subjects, for it would help out others who are devoted players so they can express their opinions on the matter. You can rework Irelia, Akali, Blitz, or even Eve. However, Aatrox has no need for such things. In summary, sure Aatrox could be helped out, but to go as far and rework the whole champion is crazy, for he is already strong at his current state. Once again, there is almost 0 reasons to even touch this champion. Thanks for your time and reading this long complaining comment.

i love aatrox I really do but the issue with his kit is , it is built around life steel ONLY and that is a down side a big one , cuz he cant 1v1 any tank with that ability his theme is (blood starved darken) so why not make his play style around his bloodwell
make him just like renekton when he has stacks he gets an impowered ability and give him a short cd on his abilities and remove the knock up on his q and make it a slow instead , and his ulty will be his current passive he kneels and do an AOE explosion or something where he heals and deals damage
off of how many enemies in the AOE and and his e is broken like when u are soo close to an enemy it passes beside them and deals no damage what so ever it will be cool if u give him like that sword charge from (devil may cry) when dante charge his sword with a black energy and release it, just do that to his e and give him a 1 sec slow and make it faster and give him 2 charges or do something with his useless e , last is his w , I say that toggle abilities to manilas champs is not good just give him an active ability where he deals bones dps from his new bloodwell passive or how low his health is just any thing rather than the current w , life steel isnt enough alone , cuz right now anyone who plays against aatrox will build brumble vest and u are scerwd, so nerf his life steel and buff his abilities and rework his ult ,w,and e and remove hard cc from his kit and I hope he will be playable cuz I really like that champ and his theme a lot

The E still doesn't fit to him aesthetically to me. Why are there 2 projectiles when he has only one sword? Maybe instead have an AS steroid for since he is a champion that relies so much on hitting things. Of course it isn't an ultimate it would have to be rather small.

Nice ideas.

Some thoughts/problems I see: -Hybrid damage, hybrid scalings, is a nice idea for aatrox. -the flat cd reduction is also a good idea though I don't know if it wouldn't be too strong. Especially the amount, 1 second would be far enough. With 2sec, if you have 40% cdr and hit 3 champions you would have Q and E up permanently already. With 1 sec it's up every 0.5sec in the best case (45% cdr 5 enemies hit) -The base damage on Q and E are a bit high, especially for an attack-centric champion. The utility of it could be upped as a trade-off (Q has a very light knock-up for example here). So yeah, that should be tuned wisely, or prevented from being affected by cdr (like yasuo Q iirc). -His ultimate still doesn't correspond well to his lore (though a bit better), where he transforms his allies into bloodthirsty warriors. You could make it so that it instead gives +1%true damage for every enemy champion hit to all allies, on attack (and maybe on ability too). Or so that allies get 10% AS and 5%lifesteal/spellvamp for every enemy champion hit.

I realy like the concept of this. Giving Aatrox some counterplay with another gp-like minigame and binding the massive combatbuffs from ulti to passive, so u have to trade em off and not just stupidly berserk ur way through the enemy to get revived. Also making his revive be able to cancel gives him more complexity. Being able to stall in stasis for friends to come or just instantly revive for more dmg is nice. My only Problem is that his theme of a god of war doesnt show in any teambuffing abilities. He seems more like illaoi now. A huge splitpusher that can teamfight ok, if the enemy gets rooted in place and he can ult into them. Giving him a teamoriented ultimate, that reliess on teammates to use it, would fit better i think. Something like a mark on enemies hit by ulti, that rewards the teammember for the killingblow with an vladulti like heal. A gamechanging ultimate, which gives Aatrox backline a way to survive assassinations and dives by focusing market targets. Also this would make Aatrox useless in teamfights, when his team isnt able utilize his ulti, and lower his 1vs1 potential. (ofc his other ulti combatbuffs must be reduced to be true).

I'm going to lose it if you don't let his ult give him attack range on auto attacks anymore... :( It was probably the most fun thing on his 'LIVE' ultimate (Besides the massive base damage) Aatrox is a supposed "God of War" type of demon with a blade that is alive. It should at least still have that growing length power. Or at least put that type of auto range increase into his W or something. Am cri.
