Someday, I Think It'd Be Nice to Include An LGBT Champion or Something?

I don't know, my friend said it was an unlikely idea, but I just think it'd be great if Riot could have more diversity, gender-wise, sexuality-wise, etc. Gender and sexual orientation wouldn't have to be their motivators or anything, I'm not saying there should be whole champions just based off of it, but I just...would appreciate a bigger variety?

Ugh, I don't know how to explain, but...yeah...sorry if I wasted your time, guys...

Sexuality is something that should stay out of the League lore. For all we know everyone on Runeterra is bisexual except for Taric, who is the lone straight man in the entire world.

It doesn't add anything positive to a character. A relationship could add story, but slapping a label on someone doesn't add anything to them.

First I'd like to say I have no problem with LGBT people. THAT BEING SAID, I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THEM PUSHING WHAT GENDER/SEXUALITY THEY ARE ON EVERYONE ELSE. Guess what? No one cares who you like or what gender you say you are. Just cause you're gay it doesn't make you special and it doesn't mean you have to fly this "Accept Me" flag around your whole life. It just pisses me off cause it's like that one kid at a party who is saying how much they hate chocolate cake when everyone else loves it. On a side note, I'd go lesbian for Vi.

Why the hell not. Just do it RIot, it'd be hilarious. A champion like the miracle worker Emporio Ivankov would be fabulous beyond compare. Taric would crumble due to lack of fabulous and have found himself a new plateau to achieve.

I'm a bit surprised at the downvotes, but I can see where they come from.

I don't have anything agaisnt the LGBT community, I'm more of a "whatever floats your boat" kind of person, but I do agree that it's somewhat tiring that people try to bring real life social problems into games, specially into one like League.

I'll ask, how would you benefit from there being a Champion based around that? How would it change your life? And also, how do we KNOW there isn't one already? There may be, there may be not, we don't know, and we really shouldn't care, this is a game about teamwork and objectives control, not to find social catalysts or whatever.

It's a very touchy and sensitive subject, and there's never a "100% right" answer other than "live and let others live", but that's my two cents.

Honestly, there would be no way to do this tastefully. Either they hint at it subtly, in which case it's not obvious enough for most people, or they beat you over the head with it, which makes it seem gratuitous and shoehorned.

Also, Cait x Vi is one of the closest-to-canon 'ships in League.

i say no cause man tbh not even hating to many people going really bat shit over " gay rights " like it existed before actual true love. i say lets leave real life debates out of a video game ?? Even though i myself have thought of this idea besides its to ,.. idk feel like its not needed for this game

Politics have no place in league of legends, lets just keep things of high controversy out of the boards? It's already really bitchy and toxic with just talking about the game...

This is stupid. I've never thought about the sexuality of any of the champs. Hell, some of them are bugs or dead things. Isn't that enough gd diversity for ya?

insaiyanbacca8/13/2015, 12:26:22 AM1 votes

it adds nothing to be a character if its just there your like "ok thats a thing" and just keep playing but if they incorporated it into a champs character they're going to be stereotypical.
