League of Legends... SWITCH

Idea... Collaborate with Nintendo to bring League of Legends to console, at home and on the go!

"But you need a mouse and keyboard!"

Wrong. You need a mouse and 4-6 buttons. So Riot could approach Nintendo "We'd love to put League on your console, can we work to bring a mouse to the switch?"

First mouse for console. Mouse in the right hand, single joycon in the left. QWER abilities assigned to ABXY (I've held a wii remote in a similar fashion, it feels plenty comfortable enough), plus SL and SR for the summoner spells. (The mouse could also have these built into side buttons?).

Unrelated but then Switch could also utilise a mouse to bring wider genres to the console with league just being a starting point. Why not the other consoles? Taking league on the go is just 10x sweeter.

Benefits Nintendo and Riot

Nintendo: Give gamers a great esports game to play. Their smartphone voice communication app would be perfect for league Riot: The game reaches a much larger audience. More skin sales, more players, etc.

Thoughts Riot and players?

Thoughts: Most good console games (Bloodborne, the Uncharted Series, Halo, any sports games (though those are debatably good), Infamous, Gravity Rush, etc.) are only console games. They never got booted to PC, and for good reason; the controls, when booting a game between systems, tend to get a bit janky. Same goes for lots of specifically PC games; World of Warcraft, League, DOTA, TF2...they don't have console counterparts.

And there's a good reason why. How many MOBA's and MMORPG's do you see on console? Not a whole lot. And certainly not any that had PC origins (Paragon got booted from consoles to PC as did a few others). I feel the main reason this doesn't happen (like at all. Seriously) is because A) The controls end up being janky, B) The developers have no interest in spending money trying to get the game ported, and C) It's a waste of time. So maybe you get people who just now hear of the game since it got ported; there are only going to be a few that haven't already heard of the game/don't already play it. Having it on multiple systems doesn't necessarily mean that the audience will multiply by some big number.

Wrong. You need a mouse and 4-6 buttons. So Riot could approach Nintendo "We'd love to put League on your console, can we work to bring a mouse to the switch?"

Why? Why why why why? What about the 6 other potential buttons beyond those for items, including a button for recalling and something to navigate the interface? And why would you think to put a mouse on a console?

To me, at least, consoles are consoles for a reason; your gaming experience is done 100% with a controller. I'll give it to you that many PC gamers can prefer to use controllers for certain games they play, but remember: That only works if the game got ported to PC.

Taking league on the go is just 10x sweeter.

Yup. Taking a 20-50 minute game with you everywhere you go just sounds dandy. I'll list the initial problem; a 20-50 minute game you're playing from some mobile device or console system. Most people who are looking for a mobile game don't have that kind of time.

League was designed around playing games that last a long time and require you to have a relatively free schedule. There are MOBAs for mobile devices and consoles that exist with cohesive controls; why tarnish the great controls League has on PC by trying to port them to console?

League of Legends is owned by China while Nintendo is owned by Japan and you know China/Japan do not really have good relations between them especially for Nintendo which tries to compete with PC in every possible way (mainly through the Pokemon series)
