An Adventure Mode for League of Legends

It has come to my attention by previously playing a classic mode in League Of Legends, that the mode ARAM holds a lot of mystery and potential. What had truly caught my eye was the details that went into the map such as, a lock on some gates in the map. This lead to my curiosity such as the idea of a new mode, that develops in the ARAM map. A new adventure mode for League of Legends! Yes, I know League is an MOBA and people may not want to stray away from the classic idea that League has to offer. Although we have to realize sometimes change is good and fun to experiment in new ways. It’ll give the community something to thrive on and possibly make League even more enjoyable than it already is. This mode could also possibly become a new type of game/spinoff of league. This mode/new game could entail the following things such as...

  • An adventure in which to better understand the lores and develop a new meaning to League itself
  • A fresh way to possibly play by yourself or with others
  • A way to better understand the champion and their relationship with others
  • And possibly many more ideas to come! (If you know anymore possibilities leave it in the comments below)

There could be new types of buffs with different elements such as

  • A rock monster somewhat in resemblance of an armadillo and stomps the ground which sends spikes like Evelynn to the champion in combat

  • A new boss such as an elemental boss which controls different elements but is one all together somewhat in resemblance as a combination of all the different types of elemental dragons

  • A swamp monster that swims through rivers and swamps which will attack from below the water although when comes up to attack is vulnerable to damage.

  • People already in the game that aren't though about as much could have a new role in the game like shop keepers, giving quests and helping the story move along,

  • A new look into the crafting side of league of legends. Instead of just buying things in a shop one must find the materials in order to have the weapon forged.

The story mode could start out with a brief description of what is happening in all the factions and possibly some rivalries. At the end of the description is will show all the different (unlocked) champions you own. You can choose your champion that you want to play in the mode and start out in that champions specific faction. You will then receive advice from bard and Aurelion soul of simple commands and guide you on your champions way. You will be able to interact with other champions and simple commoners of that faction. Rivalries will be apparent and wars/quarrels/etc. will occur. This will truly give a real feel of the lore based game and finally be able to show what potential the game has.

Also you can tame poros in the gamemode to be your companion and help you attack other enemies. There can also be variations of poros if you have the icon such as in The Poro King Gamemode. You can tame Poros by gathering Poro Snacks and feeding them to wild Porors. These Poros can have different abilities and help you in different ways to make your journey easier.

-Battlecast Poro: 15% armor increased for 5 seconds with a cooldown of 50 seconds

-Shadow Isles Poro: If you're playing a champion from the shadow isles you receive an increased duration of the champions fear will occur on your ability (1 second increased)

-Project Poro: 15% magic resist for 5 seconds. (Doesn't cleanse crowd control) with a cooldown of 50 seconds

-Gentleman Poro: After getting hit by an enemy your next auto attack will do 10% increased autoattack damage based on your AD damage. It will then go on a 30 second cooldown. Must allow enemy to attack first, be a gentleman

-Astronaut Poro: Void champions receive an ability where the enemy is blinded for 1.5 seconds with a cooldown of 1 minute

-Dragon Slayer Poro: 3% additional damage based off of a monster's maximum health (True Damage)

The champion you are playing will be able to interact with other champions and if alliances or in a good relationship with that champion you can ask for favors although they cannot help you fight other champions or large monsters.

Bard and Aulion Sol will help guide you after your champion is prepared to venture outside of the faction. You will encounter rivals and new monsters on your journey. You will uncover secrets about others champions and learn about your champion more through other champions, flashbacks, books, etc.

During the time of major events such as wars, quarrels, and other champions speaking to one another about their lores to help progress the story you may be apart of that scenario or be able to watch/hear from afar

Champions from specific factions will receive special abilities in the gamemode:

Noxus Champions: Do an increased 5% true damage to those they deem as weak (Rivals)

Demacian Champions: When engaged in a champion battle resistances are futile of both parties for 2.5 seconds when activated. Has a cooldown of 3 minutes.

Void champions: Adapt and learn from enemies they fight, exploiting every weakness they can find. Damage increases against enemies they have fought before (5/10/15/20/25% increased damage per fight. Passive ability)

Freljord Champions: 2% slow for 1.5 seconds upon activation with a 1 minute cooldown

Piltover Champions: COMING SOON

Shadow Isles Champions: COMING SOON

Bilgewater Champions: COMING SOON

Zaun Champions: COMING SOON

Ionia Champions: COMING SOON

Bandle City Yordles: COMING SOON

Shurima Champions: COMING SOON

Targon Champions: COMING SOON

(If I missed any factions please tell me, thanks!)

(If you have any ideas for these please leave them in the comment section below, or if you think anything is too op or underrated)

I hope everyone likes this idea and is excited as I am about this new possibility.

(EXCLAIMER: I don’t want to get rid of the current modes, just an alternative like URF, One for All, etc. Or a possible spinoff game for riot)

(In editing process more ideas to come soon)

Wow! This is such an innovative and genius Idea that will enhance the summoners rift in an exponential way.

Here's an idea I can agree with: as a heavy lore reader there's always been something I've been missing from the League of Legends I know: there has to be a story behind it. Most people don't even read the lore and don't connect with their champions like I personally do. However, there's no way to really do this without reading the lore of not one, but several champions surrounding one champion. In addition to this, many champions don't even have very good lores to begin with! Bard's lore is literally, "We don't know" (You can quote Uberdanger on that one but he's right!). The point is, this is a great way for people to connect with their champions, even give a way to play League without having to spend an entire 40-50 minutes trying to close a game.

As a person myself that likes to look into the lore as well, I totally agree with you! :D

It'd be pretty cool to see something like this!

But how could you satisfy everyone? You would need to be an outsider looking in on the lore. Being the champion could work ala strife 1player mode, but that felt like a gimmick. Not a real game mode.

Oh, ok that does make sense. Thanks for the constructize criticism! :)

Just an FYI to everyone I'm currently working on more to add to idea right now with two other friends. I will credit them after we finish up a few things. There will be an update of the page soon and possibly more updates after that. Thanks for voting and your constructive critism! :)

So basically like a lore play through of a character?

Griffball363 votes

I think that's what it would be like, yeah. Not sure what Op is thinking but this is what I got from the idea, to me it seems like a great way to connect with champions!

Basically yes, with new things such as abilities, monsters, and items, etc. More to come on these things in the future.

Take a page from strife's book. Explain the lore through solo quests, and leave larger, more involved stories for major events. Look at Taliyah Lore, having something like her exploring the villages of shurima, and encountering nasus, where you're given a choice to play as nasus or continue on as Taliyah, later having to save the village from xerath.

It would have to be a separate game from league, since the two games would be completely unrelated bar lore.

You also forgot shurimans

And Targonians

Thank you for the ideas! Also after taking some time to think, I have also come to the conclusion it may have to be a whole new game altogether because of the amount of information, time, and coding it will take. Thanks you again for your input and telling me which factions I had forgotten. xD

League Of Legend is a team based strategy game, how does this have anyhting to do with that? Plus, an adventure mode could be very cringy. For example, i hate minecraft, so when they released minecraft story mode i wanted to claw my eyes out on how bad it was. Dont want that to happen to league :/

minecraft story mode wasn't a minecraft game... it was a game made by telltale with a minecraft coat of paint, or that's what it looks like.

You can also have a team environment with it as well by inviting others to play the story with you! Although this game isn't minecraft, therefore it may have a different outcome, you won't truly know until the mode is produced.
