Hextech Skins

r/leagueoflegends - PBE Preview: Hextech Poppy

As an avid Poppy player who has bought every skin on release to support the designs of the champion it feels very defeating to have no way to get this skin. I have put many hours into League and have only gotten 4 gemstones since the release of the crafting system. Maybe it's just me but having what is part of a "collection" tab be entirely left to luck is very upsetting. I hope there will be at least discussion at Riot about reverting the way this system works as it feels very unrewarding as a player.

The skin is at least obtainable. Consider someone like me, who's got every available Janna skin except one - Victorious Janna. I can never get that skin because it came out before I was even playing the game, and they've made it abundantly clear that their Victorious skins will never be rereleased.

Then there's skins like Young Ryze, Black Alistar, Rusty Blitzcrank, King Rammus, that Kayle one, all the other Victorious skins - you look at those and realize that the Hextech skins aren't so bad, because while they may take a while, you can eventually get them, while you can't ever get these other skins.

See it as a long term goal. I am sitting on 5 gemstones right now and hope they will add such a hextech skin to a champion I actually play some day, so I have something to look forward to.

Just because you can't get it immediately doesn't mean you will never get it, show some patience. These skins are supposed to be rare and hard to get.

There are many times when you can buy gemstones, they are just really expensive. Right now with the current even it does allow you to buy gemstones along with event stuff.
