Exo Champion

This is a champ i thought up a while back and i went back and tried to add in some of the information people said was missing from my idea. Now that being said this is the first time i have put numbers into this so if something seems too high or low please let me know so i can fix it. (if you think something is too high or low please provide me with some options you think are more reasonable as i do not know how the numbers actually correspond to the game i just looked at a few other champions and tried to make a reasonable estimate of what sounds good.)

Exo would be a support and tank based character. I only see him being a bot lane support character I won't provide a full build for Exo because I don’t want to tell anyone what items they should play with him I want people to figure it out on their own and experiment. But if I had to choose a couple I would choose item 3158 item 3026 and item 3401

skills: Auto Attack: Exo launches a small tightly packed group of Nano’s at the enemy within (525) units Passive: Analyze and Communicate- Exo takes notice of any nearby enemy champions that have a negative status effect (stun, slow, etc.) and communicates this to nearby ally champions, within a certain range, thus raising the amount of damage they do to that enemy. Range: 525 increased amount: 2% Q: Exo sends some of his Nano's to assist an ally Champion healing them by (150/200/250/300/350) amount over (3.5) seconds. Quickly sealing their wounds and making them battle ready again. Range: 575. Cooldown: 7.5 seconds W: Exo launches a bomb made up of Nano's that latch onto a single target. Upon exploding the Nano's making up the bomb attack the targets CNS (central nervous system) and stunning them for a short time and leaving the target in a weakened state for a short time. Damage: (150/225/300/375/450) Stun time: (.75/1/1.25/1.5/1.5) weakened state lowers defenses by 5% for 3 seconds. Range: 525. Cooldown: 5 seconds E: Exo summons a cloud of Nano's to act as a shield for a single ally champion for (3.5) seconds or (175/250/325/400/475) amount of damage, whichever comes first. Range: 550. Cooldown: 6 seconds R: Exo charges up for a short time (2 seconds) then releases Nano's over the entire map. the Nano's go into over drive and increase all stats of all ally champions by a certain percentage (2%/3.5%/5%) for 10 seconds. Range: whole map. Cooldown: (45/55/65)

Lore: Exo was originally made as part of a healing process for the members of the League of Legends. Due to the immense amount of fighting that goes on there, there are always at least a few champions that need stitching. So the medical staff came together and developed a process that would allow Nano-bots to go in and replicate the cells of the wounded champs and help them make a speedy recovery. These Nano’s had the ability to communicate telepathically so that they were always working as an efficient team. The medical staff kept small portions of these Nano’s in small bottles and had the intention of selling them on the battlefield, but when a nurse accidentally fell into a pallet of the bottles the Nano’s broke free, and came alive. Confused at first then they put their collective minds into one objective… staying alive in their new hostile environment. They came together as one and learned how to replicate each other instead of other champions, but kept the process in their memory banks in case it was needed in the future. They decided to make themselves one and call itself Exo. Exo then decided that it would join the League of Legends and prove itself as the worthiest champion.

The lore of league of legends has changed.

how so? and where can i read it?

The lore now pretty much removes the idea of the league of legends and instead opts for more of the characters being random people in a populated world. I assume this was done because they couldn't keep giving excuses as to why someone like Bard or AurelionSol joined the league. Not every champion's lore is updated yet and the wiki isn't fully updated either. Characters such as shaco still are mentioned to of joined the league simply because no new lore is created yet. One place where someone discusses some of the events is the youtube channel necrit.

So does that leave it open for us to be more creative with how we want to create new champs, and let us come up with more diverse stories to go behind them?

yes now you just need to put them somewhere in the work. There is still noxus, shiruma, demacia, piltover, zaun, ionian, and shadow isles but, not the character can be doing literally anything instead of joining the league. http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/shurima/intro and http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/taliyah-short-story show off the room they now have to make stories.

i understand what you are trying to say but my character didnt come from any of those places EXO was supposed to be made at the League of legends, albeit if i knew where in the world the league was located i might include that information, but it was supposed to be made there...

Technically the League isn't canon anymore as an organization/location pending a revision of the lore by the developers. Right now the focus is on individual character lore and motivations rather than how and why exactly they're all signing up for a semi-shady organization that wages proxy wars on behalf of other nations while still holding all the most powerful beings on Runeterra at their beck and call.

Nanotechnology seems a bit far-fetched for a setting like Runeterra, especially when there's already magic and Hextech you could have used as design bases instead.

Nano doesn't seem far-fetched if you look at tech like Viktor 's it seems they have pretty advanced stuff. Besides it can be nano hextech if changed.

CobaltTheMadMage1 votes

Actually, Viktor is living proof that Runeterra isn't ready for nanotech. The stuff he makes is deiselpunk early sci-fi level stuff, and that's what's considered cutting edge technology pushing the limits of science without the integration of magic. Basically if he's already pushing the envelope technologically with his big clunky designs, he's got a long way to go before he can start replicating any of that at 1/1000000th scale.

But his tech can go on people. That is hard to do without infection. Besides that not him, but his tech revived urgot and let him control his body parts with his arm. The nerves and other things used to allow a person to do this are very small as well. To make the body parts they would need something like 3-d printed organs or electronics to get to the detail.

CobaltTheMadMage1 votes

Actually, sterilizing a wound before applying a prosthetic is a rather standard medical procedure, though for what it's worth I hardly think it mattered for a Frankenstinian undead cyborg abomination like Urgot. And I'm fairly certain Hextech can let you just magically bond a prosthetic to a person to serve as a functional limb, though given Zuanite tech's determinedly crude aesthetic they probably just make do with a "close enough" crude stapling of metal to flesh with wires jammed into areas closely approximating what would be necessary to control them.

Viktor's designs still look cleaner than what else we've seen from Zaun simply because his cybernetic body is basically the product of his life's work, the cutting edge of technology and magic with which he seeks to revolutionize Runeterra, whether they like it or not. I almost suspect he's sort of a cyberlich by this point, with his body being almost 99% mechanical with only important bits like his heart and brain remaining of the original flesh. That being said though the issue still remains of whether or not his technology would be possible at nano scale, as so far there is little to no precedent for nanotechnology in either Piltover or Zaun.

And I know Zac doesn't count because he's a sentient Ooze, which traditionally are made of semi-organic materials in a decidedly "lab accident" manner.

But that can be added to the story. Someone figured a method towards nano tech. Look at the tech in Orianna as well, they have a lot of advances in different random areas. Maybe even with help from magic for something such as replication purposes it seems possible.

CobaltTheMadMage1 votes

Oriana's mostly clockwork and early electronics, still not the same order of magnitude as nanotech.

As for it being a new invention, I actually mentioned in another comment that I could probably picture it working out a bit more if the "nanites" in question were more insect-sized than the whole 'assembled from individual molecules' thing that nanotech usually implies. And yeah, having a sort of magical core that cranks them out and controls them would make it a bit more plausible too.

CobaltTheMadMage1 votes

Come to think of it I could probably swallow the 'nanite' concept more if they were more insect-sized, possibly with a sort of larger core commanding them.

As for lore revision, I could see this being invented in Piltover as a revolutionary new medical aid that could learn and respond to any sort of injury or ailment and treat it with an unprecedented degree of finesse using its many drones, but then someone from Zaun liked the concept behind it and wanted to weaponize it, so they and/or a few hired mercenaries tried to steal it and kidnap/kill its inventor. Unfortunately the machine was smarter than anticipated, and proved capable of self-defense by using coordinated swarms of drones to form a body with which it could move and attack, using its extensive medical knowledge to incapacitate its attackers without killing them. In the process, it became aware of the much wider world outside the facility in which it was created, and now considers such criminal activities as those that nearly cost it the life of its creator as a sort of illness plaguing Piltover akin to those it was designed to treat in people. One it has begun making efforts to treat whenever the opportunity presents itself.

hey everyone thanks for the comments :) would it help if i used the idea of using magic to shrink the technology down to the size needed and since yall came up with that idea would you mind if i incorporated it?
