[IDEA] Profile personalization, and other few tweaks to the profile page

Hi! I made this post a while ago on the main boards of my server. But since we are changing the platform and things got real messy there, I thought to put this here. It’s an idea to personalize your profile and to add a few tweaks to it. Here it is.

  1. Highlight your champion mastery, your honor level or your ranked progress. Basically the new thing here is the honor level (that could be shown to other players after getting level 3). The honor now show the icon of the category you got more votes. https://imgur.com/RiwoAzq.png You can chose which champion to show in the panel (among the 6 most mastered) and your main role. https://imgur.com/HJrU09u.png Your ranked insignia will be part of the ranked highlights (you can hide it if you don’t choose to highlight your ranked queue) https://imgur.com/LtUHQ59.png
  1. Hover the mouse over the panel to see more information about honor, the top three champion mastery and the other queue progress. https://imgur.com/PdufGx6.png
  1. Change the icon border to square, circle or octagon.
  2. Show your club tag
  3. Add, exclude or block player on the profile page

  1. Leveling system now being a part of Universe. https://imgur.com/sXBj6S6.png This I made because I always wanted to show my love for Shurima on my profile (ALL HAIL AZIR), and because I find the new icon border really ugly. You can earn background and location’s crests as you level up.

Hey all, This is actually my first red name post, but this is some work that touches on a lot of aspects that are near and dear to me :) Being the art lead on the client and returning to working on the client again soon (I moved over to work on the leveling system and the health bar design with some awesome folks), I have quite a bit on context around the client's design and visual language.

First and foremost, I love the work you've done here. You've taken a lot of the visual language of Hextech and created a beautiful rendition of a personalized player space. There's a lot of things that actually replicate some personal exploratory directions myself and others have made too, which is awesome. If you'd ever like to explore the option of working here, I'd be more than willing to review your portfolio and talk to you offline about opportunities we have available. Secondly, it makes me sad that so many people here have said "too bad Rito will never do this" but I understand where the frustration comes from. Ultimately, things like this can fall into a balancing act of prioritizing delivering new features vs. innovating already established ones. It's a pain point that myself and others are very aware of and constantly trying to improve, but progress takes time. I WISH it was as easy as taking a new design and copy pasta'ing it into the client to make changes like this, but there's an intricate web of data being fed into each part of the client that takes a lot of problem solving and up-front work to do correctly. Just know that this particular problem space is something we are aware of and working daily to improve on.

Thank you all for not only highlighting the need for improvement in this area, but congratulating OP on the level of quality in these design directions.

As a graphic designer myself i have to give you huge credit for all of these images. I know from experience that creating this much custom content is not an easy task. It takes time, inspiration, motivation, dedication and knowlege. Things you seem to posess in enormous amounts.

I sincerely hope you get alot of recognition and your post contributes to the game. You have demonstrated immence talent!

But i have one tip for you. If you plan on sharing high quality custom made images like these on the internet i sincerely sugget making your custom watermark and adding it to your image. This is the internet after all, and sadly, it's filled with art thieves who steal images and mark them as their own. A custom watermark will make that much more difficult.

One problem is now if riot does do it, you can't take any credit because as soon as it was posted here, the content belongs to them and no longer to you.

I only logged in to upvote. I would really love to see your take on the game loading screens (the page that displays the teams before the match begins). That needs a drastic overhaul.

I've been playing League for around 4 Years now wich is the most time I have played a game and I still love it because of the ability to do different things every game, to build some creative stuff and test things over and over again, so for me League is almost all about that Creative feeling you have everytime you get into a game. Compared to your available profile settings right now I'm asking myselfe, why is there only the Option to change your Summoner Icon and the Splashart to only Ultimate Skins. Adding some options shown in that post would not only make you invest more time into the game since you will have to make your profile as fancy looking as possible but lets you also be creative in the client and not only in game. Of course you can be kinda creative when it comes to runes/preset Itembuilds but that's about it and I wouldn't really put it as a "creative act". Even if it would need some time to implement Profile Settings like these, I'd really love to see them so I can get even more Creative, be able to test even more and to have more motivation to level if there would be changes available after you have reached a certain level. That idea gets definetly a +1 from me
