Gifting Skins and Champions

Ok, so today while me and my friends were playing League, I decided to gift my friend a character. I went to the gifting center and scrolled around, but there was no place to give skins I own, I could only buy skins for him. I want to know if there is some way for me to give him a skin/character without purchasing it. Thank you in advanced.
