Colour Wars (Custom Game Mode)
OUTDATED this post was made before custom itemsets were removed in the new client, making this game mode much harder to play. Not like it was popular anyway. Feel free to use any ideas for your own custom game modes.
Introduction Colour Wars, is played on Summoner Rift in a 5v5 Draft Pick. It's played out like a standard league of legends game. However each team has to follow the build restrictions. Items are sorted in to 5 main categories and 1 fundamental category, (Crimson, Dazzle, Ardent, Spectral, Mystic, and Fundamentals). Every player must only build items from the one main category they choose along with the fundamental category everyone can access.
Examples: If you choose crimson, you may only build crimson and fundamental (brown/white) items. If you choose spectral, you may only build spectral and fundamental (brown/white) items. And so forth for all the 5 categories; Crimson, Dazzle, Ardent, Spectral, and Mystic. Also Fundamental items are available for each category as seen in the examples above.
Build Rule Selection: There are two rules listed below for you to choose from. Custom games should be named "Colour Wars" followed by the Tag [noEx] or [Lim], corresponding to the rule below your game will follow. This way all players know the rule they are expected to follow. You should also specify the tag [Vic] or [noVic], allowing or disabling victor as a playable champion due to hex cores. A full Example is: "Colour Wars [noEx] [noVic]"
"No Exception" Build Pathing: [noEx] you may not build an item not listed under the categories allowed with the rules specified above. For example; if you choose Dazzle (purple), and you wanted to build ROA (which is listed under Dazzle), you still cannot build a Ruby Crystal because it's a crimson item. You must wait for the gold to buy Catalyst of Aeons instead. You may buy partial items like Catalyst of Aeons and legendary items like Ludens in any order, as long as no item you buy isn't on either the Dazzle or Fundamentals item list.
"Legendary Limited" Build Pathing: [Lim] you must build whole legendary items in order, but may buy pieces of the one your currently building even if their not under your category. For example; if you choose Dazzle (purple), and you wanted to build ROA (which is listed under Dazzle), you can build it including it's pieces like Ruby Crystal. However once you start building ROA, for example you have a Catalyst of Aeons, you may not build any other item until your ROA is completed. Meaning even buying a purple item like Needlessly Large Rod, or Ludens will violate this rule. Because you must finish ROA before starting your Ludens. This is so that people don't build partial items of various colours to get around not building items of the colour you were assigned.
Victor's Hexcore: [Vic] or [noVic] An exception to the colour restriction is Victor's Hex Cores. It would be unfair to force him to only take Crimson, so he can get his "Perfect Hex Core", so he is able to buy any Hex Core regardless of Build Path he chooses below. Either this, or you could specify "no playing victor".
Trinkets There are red, blue, and yellow trinkets. This means Spectral and Dazzle don't get trinkets. This isn't a problem for Spectral because you can grab Eye of the Equinox, however Dazzle has only pink wards. One ward on the map for Dazzle would make it rarely picked, so I decided to fix this by allowing everyone trinkets regardless of colour. It's acceptable because trinkets don't count as items, and makes it more fair.

Notes: This has not been tested and I could have missed some items. So if you see anything you'd like to be changed, or want clarification on something let me know. With that said, let me know if you found this interesting or would like to try it. I also initially had the idea to make it so that every person on a team had to pick a different colour. However I scraped that idea because I thought it would cause more trouble than it would be worth. If there are any other rules you could think of let me know. I didn't look in to
