Potential Game Mode

So this is a weird idea...but I wonder if Riot has ever toyed with the idea of a rotating game mode of some kind where the players can play as champions prior to their VGU, such as old Taric or old Yorick. I don't know if it would be too hard to run, since a lot of those features would probably share some files with the current champions, but I think it could be really fun...possibly even on the old Summoners' Rift? I think it could be really fun, kind of like a combination of old and new, maybe for some kind of throwback for the older players.
