The new passive change on Syndra, i do not approve so far.

Hello.

As Syndra is still in beta, so far i do not like her new passive change. Dark Sphere at maxed ranked is that the Dark Sphere will last 8 secs on the ground? Thats a nerf compared to the 15% damage increase and from what i can see her Dark Sphere at maxed ranked is that the Dark Sphere will last 8 secs on the ground that is it looks like its just for her ultimate Unleashed Power, there is no damage or poking ability at max rank on her Dark Sphere. Now she is just straight early game, this is when she is strongest, level 5 and 7 it used to be 5 7 9 (I'm comparing to way before her Dark Sphere base damage was at 90 level 1). She is a poke - spam-able mage, i do like the idea that she can cast the 7 Dark Sphere ultimate but there is an item that can completely block that damage and she will be utterly useless after that and that item is called Zhonya's Hourglass item 3157.

Here are some suggestions:

1: Decrease the mana cost on her Q and W.

2: Decrease the mana cost on her Q and her ultimate's cooldown.

3: Decrease the cooldown on her Q and her ultimate's cooldown.

4: Increase the base damage on her Q and decrease the ultimate's cooldown.

5: Increase the base damage ability power ratio on her Q and increase the ultimate's base damage or ability power ratio.

So that 1 can be spam-able and don't have to worry about a lot of mana spam and since her W can pick up 3 balls max she can also use that instead of going Q+E now she can Q+Q+Q+W+E+R.

So that 2 can be spam-able and don't have to worry about a lot of mana while getting ready for ultimate and be able to use her ultimate will be quicker to recharge and come back into the match (enemy champion used their hourglass to block Syndra's ultimate).

So that 3 can be able to cast faster and be used with her ultimate's power (Damage increase to her ultimate basically) and don't have to waste time getting ready to do a really big ultimate showdown with her ultimate.

So that 4 can be used as a reliable poke ability and put out some damage since her 15% damage increase to champions is going to leave the game soon and be able to use her ultimate will be quicker to recharge and come back into the match.

So that 5 can be able to put out some damage all together now and her Q will be a reliable poke since the 15% damage increase is going to leave the game soon and her ultimate will be used more often because of the 8 second duration on her Q, so 7 ball ultimate will be just a thing now, back then 7 ball ultimate was like for master Syndra players and what not because its kinda hard to cast knowing the Dark Sphere will only stay on the ground for 6 seconds.

I do like the Force of Will change now that it will be a thing to get to max rank since it can pick up more than just 1 Dark Sphere that's pretty cool but i do not like the Dark Sphere max rank change.

So here are my ideas on the new Syndra passive and i hope you can find use of the knowledge i have brought into this thread useful. Looking forward to the Mid-Season magic!

So if I'm doing numbers right, the Q ability went from 270 + .6 AP + 15% additional damage to 270 + .7 AP

The difference between these two roughly equates to 34 damage if it hits on a champion. That's before resists. In reality, old Q was probably doing maybe 20 more damage to champions per hit. But now you have the ability to get 7 sphere ults off more easily, so the damage is easily made up there.

I agree that it is a nerf to the Q as a stand alone ability. But it's only like 35 damage difference per Q that hits a champion (and the new one will do more damage to minions, a small plus)

I guess I just don't play syndra enough to really see what the fuss is about. From a numbers standpoint, it doesn't seem like that big of a difference, especially considering the additional nuke damage on the ult from additional spheres.

I have more suggestions: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/yjLlRRLE-what-i-expected-for-syndra-change-on-the-pbe It's not balance but that could be good for syndra

My big issue with the Syndra changes is now that she is not a very hard mage to play anymore. I don't main her or anything, but she's super fun to play, and on those rare occasions where I can get a six or seven sphere ult off onto a carry makes me feel proud. Now I will always be able to do it and it won't feel as rewarding. And then the Syndra nerfs will come through on her ult damage because of the consistency of the six spheres, and then she won't be playable due to not having any damage.+
