Pre-Game Internet Connection Test

I don't know if this has been brought up before but I think that some sort of optional pre-game connection diagnostic would be a great utility. My internet connection varies in quality throughout the course of the day and it would be nice if there was some way for me to get a estimate as to how my internet would perform if I were to start up a game. I know that there are online speed tests that you can take, but having a service like this in the client that can accurately simulate how your connection would perform in a game would be really useful for people like me.

With my connection like it is, anytime that I try to play a game outside of the optimal hours (when overall internet traffic is low in my building/area) it's a real gamble whether I'll be able to really play and contribute to the match. Maybe this isn't feasible to simulate but it would be really cool to hear if other people would appreciate something like this. Also any response from Riot would be awesome. Thanks!

...Or you could just load up a custom.

While i would like something like this, it wouldnt really work. Especially when every game is different. Its sad when one match can have little to no lag, but the next can be nothing but lag. but its how ever Riot chose to do their servers. some times you get routed easily thus resulting in little to no lag, or you get the short end of the stick and need to take many routes in order to get it thus resulting in major lag. Because nothing is set in stone and every game is different. this would leave it to be unreliable since that might mean your next game will be ok, but the one after that could be critical.

I guess I should have clarified some parts of this a little more. It wouldn't attempt to "cover all the bases" so to speak but give you more or less a message of "yep you should have a decent ping if you load up a game right now (based on your location, time of day, the expected/averaged data requirements of keeping in sync with 9 other players". It would focus more on just your end of the connection.

The reason I bring this up and am focusing on just one individual's side of the connection is that over the past 5 months or so of living in my new apartment I have found that the only factor that time and time again kills my ability to play League is the time of day/playing during high traffic hours. While I have a vague idea of when my window of time to play is, a tool like this would be nice to give me a sort of heads up as to what I can expect if I try to play a game. It would NOT try to take into account other potential connection issues from other players or anything outside the scope of the individual player's connection to the game.
