Azir - The Emperor ALONE in his Sandbox

Champions - League of Legends

Azir Azir was released 9/16/2014, yet he's 13th from the BOTTOM of the list on popularity. If you look, he's the youngest champ by far that is so low on the totem pole. Poor guy! Let's make the other kids like him again!

I just tried him out and I noticed a couple things: 1) It's really hard to figure out whether or not you will be moving yourself or your sand soldier when you click on enemies. 2) I really want to keep myself as far away from enemies as possible.

SUGGESTION #1 - E Shifting Sands Perfect ability, just change the direction. Everyone knows an Emperor of the Sands doesn't dash anywhere! Instead, have his soldiers dash to him with the same damage and knockup. When they reach the emperor they disappear, giving him the shield the ability already gives him.

This would allow for: A) More fun ordering your soldiers around! B) Easier to disengage and get out of harms way. Why are we using soldiers to distance us from the front lines and then using E to charge the front lines? No no no.

That right there might be enough to make it a bit easier to play him and make him a more attractive pick.

However, if you're still reading and it's Christmas:

SUGGESTION #2 Fix the difficulty of controlling Azir vs the Sand Soldiers. I find myself clicking on an enemy champion that isn't in range of my sand soldier, and Azir moves forward when I really have NO INTEREST in closing the distance with my enemies. I just want my soldier to attack the enemy champ/minions whenever they get in range.

This might be achieved by: A) When a sand soldier is in play, using the MOVE command will move Azir and RIGHT-CLICKING will make Azir attack while using the MOVE-ATTACK command will control the soldier and using MOVE-ATTACK LEFT CLICK will cause the soldier to attack. -or- B) Split Azir's movement speed between himself and all Sand Soldiers. With the gift of movement, then I can order attack-moves that will slowly move myself and my sand soldiers within range of enemies rather than Azir rushing ahead while my Sand Soldier just stands there. Since we're splitting the movement speed, I won't be able to use this to chase champions (possible OP), and if I'm disengaging I'll need to pop the new and improved E to bring my sand soldiers back to me so they can disappear, give me a shield, and give me back my movement speed!

I'm thinking option B sounds best!

Thank you so much for your time! I hope somebody up there reads this! It's a shame to put so much work into a champ and see nobody playing him when he's only 6 months old. Have a wonderful day!!!

I like the suggestions, but I also like the way Azir is now.

I would like to see more indicators for Azir. For instance: a circle around his soldiers indicating their attack range.

I, personally, have problems using Azir because I like to use Attack-Move when using ranged champions over right-clicking an enemy. For this reason, even though an enemy might be in range of my soldiers, when I use Attack-Move, Azir targets the closest enemy to him. This could be a minion or a tank that is not in range of my soldiers. Maybe Riot could come up with a change that makes it so that he targets enemies closest to his soldiers over himself.

Thanks for the reply Squeekems!

I do the same thing as you with the attack-moving. More indicators would be lovely.

I was hoping more people would be interested in this. lol oh well! :)

I'd really like the E to change from Azir dashing to the soldier to the other direction. The soldiers should dash to Azir and give him that shield.

Emperors may be dashing, but they do not dash! =P
