DJ Sona - Why not actually DJ?

Well, everyone's on the hype train for the DJ sona skin. I'm deffinately one of those. I really adore this skin to the sky's and above. Now, the concept of her music is really cool and all - I really do love it. The way her skins stick with the theme of each song when it changes and all that. Well Riot, what about letting us jack in and actually do some awesome DJ'ing? I think it would add to the skin even more if you could open up your music player of choice and start spinning some tunes of your own through the league client! Maybe i'm asking for too much out of this skin - but that'd really push this skin to an all time high in development riot. DJ sona with the ability for the player to ACTUALLY DJ? I mean really guys - think about it. People go into a game and decide "Hey, this song is pretty good. Maybe my team might like it?" so they switch to "custom DJ" mode where the skins cycle as normal, but the music you have playing through something like Windows Media player, WinAmp - Hell, Google Play Music for crying out loud - would start streaming into the game. Now that would really make something of this Skin.

Lord Dusteon already gave one reason, the second reason I would say is because that is a much much much larger technological burden.

So in DJ Sona, everyone has the music installed already, so telling them to switch songs can be anywhere from a line to five lines of code. The actual conversion to bytes is a bit harder for me to do but I can say this is a very small data transfer, compared to, say streaming the music across the net to Riot, then having Riot broadcast it to five other people, overriding the fact that the game only plays music it has installed on your computer, which means updating the game to handle much more burden then originally intended on the network. This can also cause a greater amount of lag for the user and players.

Then you have the possibility of embedding viruses in such a transmission and securing that would require some solid code or constant scans which would add to the burden of Riot significantly. I can't say exactly how feasable this is since I work in system administration mostly, but I assume it would cause a greater amount of security risks.

As cool as the idea is, there are three issues: 1- It would imply messing with the client, which has ecome a big no for Riot (in LAS you can no longer alter it to get english voices, for example) 2- Since the skin lets you share your songs to teammates, some people could take advantage of this for, let's say... kinda nasty purposes. 3- Riot could be sued by music companies for allowing distribution of material under copyright.

I don't think Riot wants the possibilities of tuning in to DJ sona having a chance of tuning in to, say, someone screaming curse words for 5 minutes.

Did you hear the guy on Reddit who hacked into a school's PA and cameras? Spoilers, the whole video was offensive racist jokes and orgasms. They can do the exact same. Having Riot to approve certain songs for a skin some people will have isn't worth their pain.
