Victorious Skins...

Hello! I'm a bronze noob. (Well technically I'm Silver but same thing amirite?)

Most likely.. especially since I main Support I won't make it to gold by the end of S5. Because of this; I got REALLY excited when i heard that there was a (slight) chance that Victorious skins would be going on sale, but we'd get Chromas for the skin corresponding to what rank we were.

However since the huge Reddit thread protesting this.. my hopes have been crushed. =/

So I was wondering if there's still any chance that maybe the Victorious skin would be sold for a very limited time... It would honestly mean a LOT to me because I've been playing for a very very long time, and never have I reached anything above silver but I always thought they looked so pretty. (I just started to do ranked this year, but unranked for quite some time on EUW and NA)

I was extra sad because I couldn't get the Victorious Janna or Morgana skins (Especially since I love both of them) but even if this year's is a Marksman; I really would love just it to mark the Season 5 era.

I would understand if you guys choose not to, because I understand it's generally a sign of how hard people work to reach gold.. but for people like me who aren't exactly mechanically gifted; it would mean a lot to be able to get it.

keep the vic skins for gold+, i went from b2-p5 last season as a support main.... saying that's why your not ranking up is a sad excuse.

Thanks for the reply, but that isn't why I said I couldn't climb. I said I was mechanically challenged; which means I'm not that good at the game. I simply added on that being a supp main doesn't help the problem either. :)

You can do it!
Place plenty of wards, try to destroy the enemy wards, watch that minimap while staying safe from hooks/snares, and give people caution pings like you're paid on commission to! If they don't listen to caution pings for where the enemy is coming from, caution ping right on their feet. If they tell you to stop pinging, try to explain politely that you're just trying to watch their back, and apologize if they're offended. (Any slight edge of attitude can push people to tilt, don't risk it!)

Another good thing to do is to watch your enemy support's items, and watch how long he leaves lane for. Did they leave lane down the river for 1 second? Probably warded the edge of the river bush. Did they leave lane down river for 3-4 seconds? Probably warded outside dragon pit. Did they leave lane into the tri-bush for 1-2 seconds? Probably warded the tribush. Did they leave lane into the tri-bush for 3-4 seconds? Probably warded the bottom edge(inside) of dragon pit, possibly the outer right edge. You can see where I'm going with this. Having an idea of where they ward helps destroy wards. You'll waste less sweeper scans by trying to time it a little.

I'm sorry my post dragged out a little. That is some of my own little strategy, and I hope it helps you! :D

I feel your pain, man. I'm in my B2 promo series, and I'm hoping to be able to get at least Silver 5 by the end of the season (I almost got to Silver promos last season, but I went on tilt in the last week) but regardless. League is already classist enough, but Victorious skins just make it even worse. Challenger Ahri was made available to everyone, not just to people who are in Gold+ so I honestly think that Victorious skins should be similar.

Taking away the reward incentive just because you can't reach it is ridiculous and greedy. That's called a consolation prize, and is used in children's activities and sports so they don't feel bad or at least have proof they made the attempt.

If you can get to Silver, you still get a reward, in the form of a border and profile banner. Just finishing your placement matches guarantees you an icon. Giving special rewards for higher achievements is universal, particularly in seasonal ranked ladder games.

Challenger Ahri was never going to be part of a reward, and was just something to start the new season (are you confused by her having "Challenger" in her name?). Victorious remains the only Ranked reward skin.

Well the thing is; is that not everyone has the time, and capability to get allll the way to gold. And they did offer things (Chromas) for each rank you are if they were going to do this.

While I do understand a skin is much more validating than Chromas are; it'd just be a nice little tidbit for everyone who can't reach Gold by the time the season ends. (Not to mention that Gold+ would get the skin for free. Bronze & Silver wouldn't.)

As I said before; I understand why people don't want it to happen, but you have to realize that sometimes sharing the prize by letting lower people buy it can make them very happy. As opposed to the lower tiers feeling left out because they couldn't climb fast enough. (Which is really all it comes down to. How fast you can climb.)

All I know is we need a Viktorious skin for Viktor, til then it's just not worth it!

meh, im in bronze as well (was only like silver 5 last season, and i would be pretty mad if they did do this cause then the whole point of getting to gold for the skin is pointless
