Champion concept and cancer awareness

About a year ago I didn't think much of cancer or what someone has to go through to survive it. But this one person changed that and her names Rachel. She began to fight cancer at the age of 17 and is now "clear" of it. She has spinal implants to replace what they had to take out, but to this day she's still suffering from it. She's in the hospital right now for spinal fluid leakage. Her mom has documented everything she's been through even to today and she gave me permission to share it, but I don't feel comfortable sending it in a forum for everyone to see.

I personally feel helpless because she's my best friend and I can't do much. So, now I want to raise cancer awareness in the league community! People joke about cancer but why not have an actual cancer champion? I don't have in-depth ideas about lore or anything like that, though.

Rachel used to play League, but guys kept trolling her, making fun of her or saying nasty things she decided to stop playing league. I've tried to get her to play again and maybe this will help.

So you want a champion that's a cancer survivor? Interesting concept.

Maybe Kaisa? She's got a rampant growth on her she needs to keep in check or it'll devour her. Not really sure what else.

The Dark Star Cho'Gath skin that is slated for release next patch will be temporarily available for 1350RP, with all proceeds going to charity (though the charity hasn't been announced yet). After being retired it will be available for 10 gemstones.

The skin was supposedly made with Bryan from The Make-A-Wish Foundation thing. EDIT: not the same kid, after a few google searches, but still raising awareness of terminal illnesses and charity.

Explicitly cancer will most likely never happen, at least I think so.

But for lore: We know that the chemicals in Zaun, causing the so called Zaun Grey, are inducing alot of diseases in the population of Zaun. They are often related to the lungs in some way.

I could imagine a champion, who is suffering such a disease in the lore and is fighting to stay alive. It could be a representation for many people who are fighting the diseases plaguing their bodies every day.
