Faera, the Sword Enchantress
Mage from a royal Demacian bloodline and a noble house in Ionia, friends with Fiora, though a few years younger. Faera was raised in the Laurent household in her true heritage being kept a secret, as her family was wiped out in a Noxian raid in Ionia and a Lightshield even the second son, having a child out of marriage would be a scandal. Fiora’s father volunteered to raise the girl as his own, as a favor to Jarvan the III, shrugging off other’s suspicion by stating if they didn’t like the new addition to his family they could duel him. Faera was treated like glass by all near her, except Fiora who treated her just like another sibling, and because of this Faera always looked up to her, going as so far ask her older sibling to teach her the sword so she too could be an elite fencer. She was passionate about learning, but unfortunately she had no ability with the sword whatsoever, and her constituition was still quite weak for her age. She struggled with her secret lessons for months, her reflexes and instincts were amazing, but her strength and coordination had not improved noticeably. But still they continued until it was discovered that she had magic, when Fiora disarmed her in a training one day and she reached out to her training sword and created a magical copy of it, both the girls were simultaneously startled and overjoyed, but when they told Fiora's father the expression on his face became grave , he told her that he had to leave. He later returned and told the girls to go to bed so he and Mrs. Laurent could talk. She was then visited by a man she was told was her uncle, who told her that she looked just like her parents and apologized to her, he had a sad expression on his face, but a kind smile, he spent several hours with her and told her the story of her parents, and how he was sorry he couldn’t raise her himself. He then told her that she had a choice to make, in order to stay in Demacia she would have to have her magic dealt with, and live the life of a noble, staying far away from swords and battle or be sent to a school in Ionia to learn control. After her uncle had left, she did what she always did, and went to see Fiora, but not even she knew what to do then, Faera didn’t want to lose her sister, but she couldn’t give up magic, especially now after realizing it was her only link to her mother and Ionian heritage. Yet she was sad to leave her new family, so she promised Fiora she’d come back stronger than ever, and she was eager to train in magic and learn about her mother, and Ionian heritage. After many years of training, she was returned to Demacia seeking her path forward, and though she may not know whether to call Demacia or Ionia home, she knows they have one enemy; the horror that is the Noxian empire.
(History) Ionia and Demacia had been in talks to join together to resist Noxus' constant aggression, these talks were headed by Jarvan the 3rd's brother and a revered Ionian priestess, after many months of heated debate from both sides the two grew close and came up with an idea; if the two joined Demacia would have to protect its crown prince, and Ionians would protect their favored priestess, and so the two rushed to make the appropriate arrangements knowing time was of the essence, yet as fast as they moved noxians spies moved faster. Unwilling to give up on their plans to annex Ionia or lose it to Demacia a scourge of an Ionian general made a plan to devastate both nations by assassinating those involved, and keep both nations firmly separate. This devious general used the protests from both nations as a diversion so he could have forces infiltrate Ionia and sneak assassins posed as protesters into Ionian lands. During what was to be the largest protest an unknown Noxian general sparked a riot as cover and he and his squad of assassins struck, and although they weren't able to finish off both targets they had succeeded in dealing a crippling blow to both nations. Though a capable warrior the Lightshield was unable to fight 3 assassins and the general while protecting his bride, who was a powerful healer in her own right, but inexperienced in battle. While the Lightshield had succumbed to his wounds before help arrived, the priestess was able to remain conscious until help arrived, casting a spell with allowed her to survive her her many wounds. She soon after slipped into a coma, and died soon after, living only long enough to birth her daughter
