[Champion Concept] Grace - The Frost Skater
Hi all! I was thinking about League of Legends today and my attention turned to jungling and junglers in general, I came up with a new champion idea who is a jungler and, while I have seen a lot of new ice-based champion ideas out there, is based on ice abilities and so on. I thought mine was slightly more unique and has something to offer to the jungler role since the new champion is also based on movement speed. Below I have listed all the details that I could think of and I hope you like it and enjoy reading it!
Grace - The Frost Skater:
Basic Info:
*Damage Type: Magic
*Champion Style: Mostly ability based but is still slightly basic attack based, for dealing damage to enemies
*Difficulty: I believe Grace to be a moderate champion to learn and play (two out of three possible bars for difficulty). I think this because her abilities will require the summoner to have constant map awareness and some of her abilities have extra effects when used with each other. However, she controls sort of like a basic champion so she isn't that difficult.
*Stats: (I'm basing these stats off of the stats wheel that you find when clicking on a champion in your collection) Damage: 3 Toughness: 1 Crowd Control: 4 Mobility: 4 Utility: 2
Looks:
For Grace's looks/appearance, I had a look online and the link I attached above is a nice representation of what I imagined her looking like. I did not draw the picture, however, I think that if she had very light blue hair, was an average white female and had a slender body shape then she'd fit perfectly for a skater. Her clothes should be another shade of blue with white trims here and there (or the colors could be the other way around, white shade, blue trim...) and she should be wearing gloves as she is ice-based after all. The gloves also make sense when you think about her basic attack. It also goes without saying that she should be wearing ice skates on her feet since some of her abilities and the way she walks are to do with skating.

Story/Lore:
Grace grew up on the outskirts of Piltover, she was leading an average life and excelling in her studies. She was always happy and full of enthusiasm. Grace didn't have many friends and was always focused on studying. However, whenever she and her family had free time, they'd always spend it going out to little lush green areas around the Ironspike Mountains and either having picknicks or finding a frozen lake and skating around in circles just having fun. On her 16th birthday, Grace and her family had planned to go out for a special day of relaxing and skating in the Ironspike Mountains. Her Mother and Father woke her up on the day of her birthday but instead of having a joyful look on their faces, they looked slightly depressed and all worked out. They had to go and work for a long portion of the day since the cost of Grace's presents and other such party implements were high and her family was on such a low wage that they needed to keep the money up. After they reluctantly left to go to their jobs, Grace cut herself a slice of cake and went back to bed, she didn't feel the need to celebrate anything since she was so disappointed that she didn't even want to study. After a long while of lying in bed, she decided to open her presents. As grace unwrapped them she found that inside was the usual stuff, fancy artistic coloring pens, new clothes and some various small items meant for entertainment. In her final present, however, the present which her parents said cost the most, she found a new pair of ice skates. The ice skates weren't the ice skates she asked for but still looked pretty spectacular. She wanted to try the new skates out so much that she wrote a note thanking her parents for the presents and telling them that she was going to go out and try them on a lake in the Mountains. At the Mountains, she found it difficult to find a lake that wasn't already melting and too dangerous to skate on, she went further into the mountain range, so far in fact that the city of Piltover was not visible anymore. The freezing winds around her made her retreat to a nearby small grove, just beyond the grove there was a small lake that was perfectly flat and still frozen over, Grace got out her new skates and inspected them for a minute. As she was inspecting the quality of the skates, she noticed large crystals stuck on the back of either skate and a switch next to each, she put on the skates and switched both switches. The crystals in both skates started to glow and ice crystallized around the skates, it appears that what her parents had got her was a pair of Hextech Skates that used Hextech crystals as a source of propulsion. She effortlessly glided across the ice sheet with ease and giggled as she did so. Grace seemed to be having so much fun until the ice started to crack, she stopped and tried to listen some more, the cracking intensified and before she knew it the ice was crumbling beneath her feet, the water from underneath now pouring out of the cracks, she turned to the spot where she left her things and quickly set off. Her Hextech Skates started glowing brighter and she gained immense speed but she wasn't going fast enough, the ice split open before her and she was engulfed in freezing cold water. The Hextech crystals were shining so bright that they illuminated the whole underneath of the small lake, Grace, kicking so hard to try and get to the surface accidentally smashed one of her skates into a rock and the crystal split open unleashing massive amounts of energy, the force was so great that most of the water around her was forced atop of the ice giving her room to climb out. While Grace was lying there, on the grass next to the now destroyed lake, she hadn't noticed that small splits of pulsating mana had formed in her skin, especially where she wore both skates, they quickly healed closed before she noticed and to her surprise, she got up fine and felt no coldness what so ever. The other crystal that was attached to the other skate had gone cold and wouldn't turn on again. Grace got up and surveyed the destruction she had caused, within no time at all, she speedily took off her skates, left them on the ground, and ran to get her stuff. While she was running, she didn't notice that small pockets of ice were forming around her every step. Grace slipped on her shoes and left the grove, she wasn't leaving ice trails anymore and the wind had calmed as she ran all the way back down the mountain until Piltover came into view again. It was at this point that Grace saw her mother running through the fields, Grace shouted over at her and she came running up the hill to meet Grace. Grace's mother had an expression on her face that was more severely depressed than this morning when she left Grace for work. Grace's mother told Grace that her father had been arrested for stealing Hextech crystals and that she must return home with her right away. When Grace got home with her mother, the door was already open, they went inside and the authorities were there and had already gone through half of the house and were adamant about questioning both Grace and her mother. Grace's mother became defensive and told Grace to leave the house, the authoritarian figures snapped and told them to stay there, Grace was being pushed by her mother but Grace shouted at them to stop, the authority figures walked towards Grace with horrid expressions and speed. Grace's mother stepped in front and she was forcefully restrained, Grace, for the first time feeling un-knowing anger, stepped forward and her skin began to split all over her body, mana flowed out of each split and immediately crystalized into icicles that orbited her body. The authorities were about to take out greater force but Grace had already gone too far, her skin had split so much that her shape wasn't humanoid anymore, she burst into a storm of icicles surrounded by mana and shot out in all directions, severely injuring the figures and (in some cases) completely encasing them in ice, her mother also not managing to escape the same fate. Grace then coalesces into a cloud again and shoots out of the frozen wreck of a house that she has now created, her crying voice echoing throughout the street as she floats towards the lake where she left her Hextech Skates. Grace reforms back to her humanoid figure and sits down gently in front of the Skates crying, her frozen tears falling upon them. Grace goes on to try to hide from the authorities but she is soon found and captured. Her abilities not unnoticed, she is now forced to fight for justice in the League of Legends, using her abilities to win political disputes.
Abilities:
Auto-attack: Grace quickly forms mana-infused snowballs and throws them at her target.
Passive: Grace gains 40% movement speed on ice but has 15% decreased movement speed while in either her or her enemies base.
Q: Cone of Freezing - Grace opens small splits in her skin forming freezing icicles. Grace shoots them forward in a cone for 3 seconds dealing magic damage each second and slowing any targets hit by 15%. Grace can move and aim while using Cone of Freezing but has 40% decreased movement speed as she casts it. If cast while on ice, Cone of Freezing deals extra magic damage and Grace moves at normal speed.
W: Frozen Land - Grace channels for 1 second coalescing an orb of freezing energy in front of her. Grace throws the orb down and freezes the terrain around her causing a circle of ice to form with her at the center that lasts 3 seconds. All enemies that walk over it have a decrease of 10% movement speed, any enemies inside the circle as it is cast will be Stunned. If Frozen Land is cast in a river, the whole river on that side of the jungle freezes over for 6 seconds and all entities, except for Grace, standing in the river will be put into Stasis for 3 seconds any entities that move on the ice will have a decreased movement speed of 20%.
E: Ice Sentries - Grace summons 2 turrets that are always each on her left and right. The turrets fire ice shards at any close enemies/structures and deal magic damage, they last for 6 seconds and can be destroyed/targeted by turrets (enemy turrets automatically target them first unless a champion attacks an enemy like normal). If cast while on ice, the turrets created from Ice Sentries will deal extra magic damage, have more health/last longer and will decrease the movement speed of whatever they hit by 10%.
R: Glacial Cloud - Grace channels for 3 seconds before tearing her body into shards of ice suspended in a mana cloud, constantly draining mana. Grace latches onto the first enemy she comes into contact with and deals constant magic damage and blinding the target for the duration of the ability. While in this form Grace is invulnerable and can come out of the form by pressing "R" again. If cast while on ice, Grace will gain 40% movement speed and will only latch on to enemy champions dealing extra magic damage and decrease their movement speed by 25% (all bonus effects still take place even if the ice disappears after).
As a final thought, I just wanted to say that I think this jungler idea is a good idea since you could just focus on enemy champ while your teammate runs them down, I also think the stasis in the jungle river is a nice idea and could help turn some fights around. The movement speed is just there to either help you and your team get out of sticky situations or to assist your teammate while dealing damage or stopping them from escaping. Plus the sentries being targetable by turrets and having their own health instead of "amounts of auto attacks" worth of HP is also a nice new idea.
Please let me know if you have any feedback, all replies are welcome and new ideas are also taken into consideration. Thanks for taking the time to read!
