Shen is a ninja
Yeah all here know shen, zed, akali, kennen, .... is a ninja. But why shen is a tanker? (a ninja must have assassin skill, like zed, akali...) i wish Riot remake shen skill to fit ninja (no ninja is a tanker like shen lol).

nin·ja ˈninjə/Submit noun a person skilled in ninjutsu. informal a person who excels in a particular skill or activity. "the courses vary—you don't have to be a computer ninja to apply"
Shen is a ninja by this very definition. He excels in protecting his team. Really tired of people hating on shen. ninjutsu never was and never will be exclusive to offensive moves only.
Additionally you're referencing assassins and they're not synonymous with ninjas contrary to what pop culture has stated.
Furthermore trying to apply tanking to reality makes no sense at all. Tanks are large mechanical devices heavily plated in armor, and thus are not a person. If there existed a real "tank-person" He'd die, because when you take arrows and swords to the side of the head, you die, like a normal human being.
i totally agree, a failed attempt at riot to be unique but just made something horrible and thematically unappealing. Blah xP
I don't think Shen is a fail.
Shen is meant to distract while the other ninjas are meant to take advantage of this distraction.
Being a tank means more than just wearing heavy armor. Example Superman his body is his armor(unless he's going against Kryptonite)
I disagree with your "anti-tank" sentiment, but agree that it would be cool if the ninja "fantasy" were a bit more apparent in his kit/playstyle.
Giving him the ability to quickly reposition would be a cool way to go in my opinion.
Change his passive and his W around, so that Ki-Strike is an auto attack reset active. Make his passive Feint, have some kind of passive dmg reduction and stealth condition, like:
Shen takes X% less damage from basic attacks and y% less damage from AoE spells. (Shen's weakness is now single target spells) After taking dmg from Z such attacks, Shen goes stealth and gains XY movement speed and the ability to move through units for 2 seconds. Attacking or using an ability will end stealth immediately. Shen's first auto attack within 5 seconds of entering stealth is AoE and slows targets by 50% for 1.5 seconds.
Something like that. :P
I wish people stop wanting another typical and boring ninja when you have a original tank ninja.. serisouly play zed,kennen or akali BUT DONT CHANGE SHEN JUST BECAUSE HE DONT FIT YOUR PLAYSTYLE
