Protectorate and Magelord Factions in Lore

In Aatrox's lore, it speaks of two factions. The Protectorate - which Aatrox is fighting for, and The Magelords - the opposition. Some think that the red and blue sides of Summoners Rift represent the factions. Some believe that the magelords were the first all-powerful summoners (the ones you see holding orbs around a table). Some think Brand and Varus might be Darkin potentially belonging to the protectorate. With all the interesting things surrounding the factions, I personally would LOVE to see Riot put these factions in to play in the game just like Demacia, Ionia, Zaun, or any others.
