The Blood Moon skin series is based off of an old League Lore Journal before Riot abandoned developing its stories all together.
Essentially, the gist of it is that Reina (Blood Moon Akali) is hunted by an evil spirit (Blood Moon Shen). Eventually, tired of constantly living in fear, Reina put on her own mask (all Ionian spirits wear masks) and challenged the evil spirit. At the sight of Reina's mask, the spirit fled and was never seen again.
Blood Moon Thresh, Elise, and Kalista are simply Ionian incarnation of their original selves. Zed would not fit to have a Blood Moon skin because he himself is not a specter nor did he participate in the Blood Moon festival.
enough with blood moon pls...they're doing them like they step off a stage, with theatrical masks and theatrical costumes.
