new ninja or new game mode
Last time when i talk to my friend about the splash art of shen become "darker" than the last splash art, i think that it should be the right tone of the ninja. No matter whether they are fight for the world or themselves, ninja should be someone who hide in the darkness and do what they need to: including killing. My friend then said shen is not a real ninja, he just like to take damage. Then i try to think what is a real ninja ability should be.
Here are some idea of a new champion or a new game mode(depends which one fit better) For a new ninja: has an ability to fake or pretend another object on the map: for example, target a minion with that ability, then the target minion will die(similar to smite) and then the appearance of this ninja will turn into that minion and then he can hide himself among the minions and then say split push. Or he can kill a jungle monster with that ability and pretend to be that monster. While the ninja is still look like the minion or monster, we can still autoattack with his attack speed and AD and apply on hit effect. But when he cast any ability, he will turn back to his original form. For enemy champion to break this ability, they can deal a sufficient amount of damage, say 70/140/210/280/350 depending on the ability level, to the fake minion to turn him back to ninja. If the ninja die while he is still in minion or jungle monster, the corpses will be that minion or jungle monster until respawn.
For a new game mode: It is like hide and seek, will a new summoner spell on this new map that similar to ability for the ninja above. A possible objective to win this game mode is: It is a time race for 5 v 5. Two game need to be played, First game team A is the attacker and team B need to hide. The first game is over if a total of 5 champion die in team B. For hiding team, champion die will respawn immediately in the base, only has mana regen but no lifesteal or health regen. May open map vision for hiding team. (The idea is inspired by the korean variety show, Running Man). After that team B is the attacker and team A need to hide. The overall game is determined by the time required for each team.
Another possible game objective is 10 player all fight for teamselves in 10 minutes or 20 minutes. Winner is determined by kills or some linear funcion in kills and deaths. There are fix death time penalty after each death.
An off topic discussion: When i saw someone said league is less fun because most people only play the viable champion. I think there are a few things can do to increase the interest on trying other champions:
- Each champion has a ladder and each week or each day, give a icon of this champion to the players who are at the top ranking of the ladder(using total numbers of wins in this week or day or using the kda)
- Has some small tournament that only use a particular champion. Or orgnaize tournament that only allow player to play the 20 or 30 lowest picked champion
- Personal bonus(cash prize) for competetive player using lowest picked champion in LCS or OGN etc. Say 50-100 or more bonus each game for a particular champion.
