-Lore- -Bounty Hunter-

Short Version

Jango, family dead, farmstead forgotten, a man with nothing to lose. The only survivor in a gruesome attack after his father denied "protection" from a corrupt official, Jango set out for revenge. After 20 years of searching and becoming a famous Bounty Hunter, he located his first clue to the whereabouts of the man who ordered the hit and is now on the hunt for a Demecian Noble: Count Tresly.

Long Version

The sun breaks over the horizon in the East as rays of sunshine filled the area with it's honey warm glow. Jango tilted his hat forward to shade his eyes from said sun. Walking down a dirt path between his homestead and Piltover, the air around him was filled with depression, as he took one last look behind him the events that unfolded over night still fresh in his mind.

Shots rang out into the night bringing Jango out of his deep sleep, sitting straight up. A bullet hit his pillow just moments after, but he wasn't worried about that as more bullet holes filled his bedroom wall. Rolling over to the floor just seconds before a barrage of bullets hitting his bed and the wall behind him. Thoughts begin to race in his mind as to way this was happening and just as he reached the end of it the firing stopped. Jango slowly stood up, bracing himself for more gun fire, but when none came he very quietly moved to his dresser. Slowly moving the top drawer open he pulled out his Hextech 6-shooter, given to him for his eighteenth birthday, he made his way to the door. Easing it open he began to hear faint voices in the distance, one a stranger, the other? His father.

"You should've taken the offer the boss offered ya Jeb, otherwise you wouldn't be sitting in a pool of your own blood!" exclaimed the man. "Heh, maybe, but you should've stayed home, seeing as all your friends are dead," Jeb spat.

Jango edged forward toward the nearest window making sure not hit any of the squeaky floorboards. Once there, he glanced outside. What he saw made his heart skip a beat and his blood ice over. The scene before him was a massacre as bodies laid scattered across the front yard, his eyes traveled to were his father sat. Several bullet holes riddled his legs and stomach, how he wasn't dead yet was a miracle, next to him stood a man hunched over trying to staunch the bleeding in his side from a bullet. His other hand held a elegant pistol, probably Demeican or Ilonian, the barrel pointed at Jeb's forehead.

"I still came out the victor Jeb. Your wife's dead and so is your ranch hands, now tell me where your son is!" he demanded. "I ain't tell you a single goddamn thing!" Jeb retorted. "So be it," the man said.

Jango felt rather than saw the man start to squeeze the trigger.

"NO!" screamed Jango.

Jango aimed his pistol at the man, knocked back the hammer, and fired. The bullet traveled through the glass window, shattering it, as it soared toward the man. The hit man looked towards Jango, his cry grabbing his attention, when he did the bullet smashed through his clenched teeth, piercing the back of throat before hitting the ground behind him. There was a sick gurgle as the man's head was snapped backward from the force, were he tilted back on his heels for what seemed like forever, until his body realized that gravity existed and he fell on his back with a dull thud, small amounts of dirt kicked up from the impact. The man tried to talk, but only blood filled his words as the life drained from his eye's. Awed by his first killing of a man, Jango had to snap himself out of it, realizing his father was hurt, he ran towards him. Sliding to his side, he gingerly put a hand behind his head and lifted it.

"Dad! Are you okay? Who are these men? What does he mean mom being dead? What's goin-" "Enough son," Jeb interupted, "Do you remember the man who came by a few days ago asking if we wanted our ranch protected?" "Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?" Jango asked. "It seems his boss wasn't too happy about losing potential profit and ordered a hit on the farm. What you see before you is what transpired," he said his voice sounding tired. "We got to get you to a hospital!" Jango exclaimed. "Won't do me no good, I'm pretty banged and nearest doctor is in Piltover. I won't make," Jeb stated, ending that thought. "Come on! You can't give up now! You can't leave me alone in this world!" Jango shouted, tears streaming down his face. "I'm sorry, Jango, but me and your ma, we ain't going to be here for ya. What happened today couldn't be avoided," Jeb stated. "Dad, please, stop saying things like that," Jango cried. "Jango, the best thing you can do for me is take my rifle and my revolver and avenge this family!" Jeb firmly stated.

Jeb took one last breath of fresh air, smiling as he did so letting the sweet release of death take him. The sound of a wolf was heard in the distance, as Jango brought his father closer to him. Throwing his head back he screamed into the night.

Looking forward towards Piltover he clenched his hands into fist, the leather gloves cracking from the strain. He was going to find the man that hired the men to kill his family. They were going to pay every single last one of them.

-20 years later- -Piltover-

Jango kicked the door down, knocking it off its frame, sending splinter flying everywhere. Lifting his guns up he fired five precise shots into the skulls of some very surprised men. They crumbled to the floor as Jango searched the room for any other goons, but none showed up. In the room sat a very large desk, big enough for someone to hid underneath just case a crazed lunatic with guns came in shooting.

"Look, Skeeves, I know your hiding, get out from the damn desk and face me like a man!" Jango demanded

Skeeves peaked out from under the desk, seeing who it was he made an audible screech as he stood up, his hands up.

"L-l-l-look, J-j-jango, I don't know how you found me, b-b-but can't we talk this o-o-over?" he stammered.

Jango holstered his pistols.

"Sure we can, relax, let's talk," stated Jango.

Skeeves seemed to calm down a bit, that was until Jango unshouldered his repeating rifle and aimed it at him.

"I let my guns do the talking, Skeeves, you should know that," Jango spat, "Any last words?"

Skeeves looked around for any potential weapons, but anything useful was too far away and if he reached for them he was surely dead.

"Wait! Don't shoot! I didn't call for the hit on your family!" Skeeves yelled.

Jango still held tight to his rifle, but his interest was peaked.

"Go on," he merely stated. "I was just following orders from the boss! I had nothing against your father, I swear. In fact I'll tell ya where he's located. He lives in the Upper Division of Demecia, he's one of those fancy royal types, he goes by Count Tresly!" Skeeves explained. "Anything else?" Jango questioned. Skeeves shook his head. "No that's all I know, just please don't kill me!" he begged.

Jango reached in his pocket, feeling around a bit until he found his target. Pulling his hand out he brandished a bullet, there was markings on it that Skeeves couldn't make out. Until he eye's got used to the distance, on the bullet, etched there by a knife was his name: Skeeves.

"You see, Skeeves, there's a bounty on your head and the price doesn't change if I bring you back alive," Skeeves expression turned to horror, "or dead."

Chambering the bullet, giving it one good cock, he aimed the rifle at Skeeves.

"Sorry buddy. Man's gotta eat."

Basic Attacks: Normal: Jango alternates firing his pistols Critical: Fires both pistols

Dance Doesn’t dance instead says “I got two left feet pardner, not much of a dancer.

Edit: I read some of the comments and seeing that I just basically copy and pasted other people's passive with a few minor tweaks, I went back to the drawing board. I gave Jango's ult feel more like an ult and his passive feel more like someone with the title of Bounty Hunter should have.

Edit 2: Thanks to Echoing for pointing our that ratios were lack luster, even for a ADC, and pointing out that Jango really didn't have any CC or a good means to escape from enemies. So I removed his old W and added, hopefully, a better one that tries to fit the theme and add some CC.

What's up.

Loving the whole bounty hunter theme, but I couldn't get through the lore. That is way too damn long. Brevity is the soul of wit, and long walls of text are the enemy of people trying to parse why your champion exists. I recommend, if not cutting it down, at least providing a summary somewhere.

The passive's honestly not a bad idea at heart, but the stat bonuses are far too unremarkable for how long it takes to get them - you're better off cutting them, simplifying the passive, and making it available more often. It's a seriously cool and thematic way to get ahead while also putting power in your teammates' choices.

The rest of your kit is honestly pretty bad. Even if your numbers weren't so comically off (they really are, go take a look at other marksmen's ratios on the LoL wiki), your kit is nothing but raw damage. Literally every marksman ever can do damage while also bringing something else to the table, like Graves' Smoke Screen, Varus's Hail of Arrows, and Ashe's Hawkshot, just to name a few. If you can't even bring the token amount of CC to the team, it'd just be better to pick Draven, who also gets bonus gold but can chunk people with spinning axes of doom.

Speaking as a marksman main, go to the wiki and look at all the other kits and their ratios and numbers, then come back and revise accordingly. I wouldn't touch this guy as he is, but he's got some promise.

Seems like a nice concept, but I think it needs some changes.

  • His Passive is far too similiar to Rengars in my opinion. Since he is a bounty hunter maybe let the passive interact with champions bounty ?
  • Fury Mantra seems odd as fury should make your champion more powerful while he is in combat, but the storage mechanic works completly against that. That said there doesn't seem to be a good reason for him to have fury.

His Q seems to be inspired by Jhins grenade and doesn't seem to add anything new. His W is a bit confusing: Where does he fire the shots ? Is his R avaiable at Lvl 1 or 6 ? The effect doesn't seem very impactfull (playstyle hardly changes) and doesn't strike me as an ult.

What was your intention when designing this champion ?

Already have a bounty hunter....

swaggysaggy1/21/2016, 2:07:02 PM1 votes

The passive is an overpowerd reskin of rengars passive. 30% lifesteal and 20% bounus attack damage is way to strong the passive should be changed so its not just a reskin of rengars passive.

♦Passive: Wanted Dead or Alive♦ Reminds me a lot of kindred, but it does fit the theme That said the gold gain needs to be nerfed and the bonuses should get streamlined (Focus on one or two stats)

♦Passive: Money in the Bank♦ Not a huge fan of a gold bar, since you or don't really benefit much from this visual indicator The Gold-Bullets ratio is also very weird... Maybe just make him able to buy his extra ammo ? Another option would be to give him a unique currency like GPs coins that he uses to upgrade his gun and buy ammo

♦Unique Item: Martha♦ Silencer - What exactly does it change ? Sturdy Stock - When your ammo is limited you rather want to deal more damage Sniper Scope - Extra range seems nice, but I think you should reduce the bonus from his ult

♦Ultimate: No Mercy♦ Weird that you want to unload you precious ammunition faster than your normal ammunition Overall it still suffers from the same problems

The lore is one of my favourite parts about Jango. Although it has the revenge trope that I'm getting really tired of lately, you really connect with Jango. I adored the description you used, and it had great pacing. Loved every second of it.

I myslef was working on a bounty hunter with a similar conecept for the passive. I Woud like for you to write about what certain models should look like and the different animations. When I was working on the passive, I had the shop keeper place the wanted poster onto their front, and after a while, lets say like 7+ bounties, they would start getting annoyed about how many posters they needed to put up, and would become very sluggish in all of their animations for the rest of the game. The rest of the keep seems weak in comparison, and seeing as this is only your second design, I don't particularly wont to give you many answers or possible changes that could be made. I know it sounds kinda mean not helping a newcomer, but I feel that it is better to learn by yourself, so you don't always need help, but I will give a few things that I would change.

To be honest, Jhin is the closest champion to Jango in terms of kit. If I were making Jhin, I wouldn't have a form swap, as a purpose of a bounty hunter is to quickly get the job done and grab your reward, before using that money to buy some ale. I would prefer for the ultimate to Jhin's ultimate, which more closely resembles the personality and needs for a bounty hunter. However, Jhin has already taken it, so that's were you come in ;).

Good luck
