New Champion Concept: Parasitic Slime

I was thinking of a new champion concept, focused around a parasitic model. The basic concept of this champion is that it binds itself to other champions making this champion more likely support focused. This ability would be an ultimate ability similar to Nidalee and Elise in that they have it at level one, but in this champion this ultimate ability would be a toggle between walking around unpaired and latching onto a allied champion. Upon pairing with another champion, this parasite would become unable to control movement and unable to auto-attack, but would still be able to cast abilities. The parasites auto attack damage would be added to paired champions auto attack damage as magic damage. This pair of champions would have a combined health bar but with two different colors to differentiate between champion health.

  • Passive- Rage bar not mana, activating abilities and auto- attacks( in single form or paired) increase rage bar. The more rage you have the more ability damage you deal.
  • Q- Similar to a blitzcrank rocket grab but with smaller range and shorter cooldown.
  • W- An AOE Terrify, area is similar to a chogath scream in shape and size.
  • E- An AOE Damage and slow area after a brief pause similar to a brand eruption in size and effect.
  • R- Toggle latch onto a allied champion. Paired champions have a combined auto attack damage and health bar. Health bars differentiate between champions with two different colors. When damage is taken each champion takes 50% on the damage. This is when the Parasite has 0 rage, the damage is divided differently based on how much rage Parasite has. The more rage the less damage paired champion takes and the more parasite takes. Scaling up to, at full rage bar, parasite takes 100% of the damage and paired champion takes 0%.

I have come up with these abilities for several reasons. First off when they are combined they could be vulnerable to many strategies that would not work on multiple targets. Two champions can control the lane better to avoid skill shots and set up such tactics of their own. With a single moving target this would be difficult. So I thought of one of the scariest things that can happen to you bot lane, a blitzcrank grab. A similar ability could very well keep this pair safer from the same tactics. I also wanted a form of crowd control that wasn't a knockup, and I wanted it to be an AOE to deal with multiple enemies in lane, a terrify would work well. Lastly I wanted a poke ability. This is because a single target could get poked out of lane and be unable to do anything about it. I also didn't want this to be a straight line skill shot because of lane positioning would be difficult for a single moving pair to get around the minion wave to poke back at the enemy team. So the answer to this is a longer range AOE burst that is a similar to a brand eruption.

I hope you would look at this description and tell me what you think of this idea, and possible changes that you think would be better and why.

I understand FloRaider42 on the concept of being hard to balance. But looking at all the other champions that have come flying out of the starting gate and have needed "Balance Changes" to their kit, I would think that if Riot were to make this Champion they would make it work in how they see fit.

Also, with the statement of giving up two players to get one buffed champion, isn't that the roll of the support? (i.e. I'm not trying to insult Supports) Granted, wards still have to be placed, and I'm sure if there were communication between the two players something could work out.

Even then, I would assume that Parasite's R being a toggle means that the champion can switch between targeted allies (and possibly enemies) so it could hop on the jungler and ward where places need to be warded.

The only thing being isolated is the concept of movement for the parasite. But, looking at base movement speeds for all other champions I'm sure something could be worked out.

Finally, touching again on the concept of giving up two players to get one buffed champion. That's more or less what Riot's been doing if you consider it in the grand scheme of things. Tweaks and balances across all champions. Some go up, some go down.

~ I'm sure I'll think of something else as well but a good idea nonetheless ~

Such a champion would be hard to balance as you are giving up two players to get one buffed champion, probably resulting in a lot of hit and miss combinations.

I tried making a possession-type champion with a very similar concept to yours about a month ago. I might do a rework on it later on, but I'm already a bit busy as it is. Here's the concept.
