League of Legends Fan-made Novel Series: Runeterra+

Hello everyone,

I'm starting a web serialization for a league of legends based novel I'm writing, something similar to what CeruleanOak did a few years back. (Chapters are linked in a box near the bottom end, you can skip to that if you'd like. You do not need dropbox to view the pdf)

Why I'm writing:

The intent is the same, I'm writing to elaborate upon the characters and the world of Runeterra. I've always loved the potential League's had for some amazing stories, but I also feel like the characters and cities are forced into exaggerated identities. While these exaggerated traits help them stand out from the others, I feel like it limits the quality of writing by consistently creating one dimensional characters.

So I want to give the world depth.

This is my own recreation of the world and its champion's stories. I want to show you all overarching issues that go beyond just war and revenge. I want to show you the backstory to the champions we never got: their idiosyncrasies, their relationships, their struggles, everything.

And it starts in Piltover.

The Novel Itself:

Large Scale Changes and Things to Note;

I am following a map made by ask-riven as my canon map for the story. The main character is an original character. This gives me some more freedom to manipulate motives and interactions with other characters, also lets me move the story to different parts of the world. I will also only develop 3-5 champions at a time. More may appear in the novel, but I want to do these champions justice in my writing, so I'm keeping my scope small.

Novel Publishing Schedule

Bi-weekly on Thursday. First publication for the prologue and chapter 1 went live on 3/10/2016. *Note that I am a college student, so while I will try to stay loyal to my release dates, I may have to put less priority on my writing at times.

Additionally, I'm still learning as a writer. If there's any issues with the mechanical aspects of the piece, I'd be glad to hear it and make the appropriate adjustments in the chapter and the future ones.
