Character Idea: Adam, the Envoy of Peace

Overview:

Adam is a melee tank, mainly used to directly benefit from tanking.

Lore: The distant future is a grim, dark place for Demacia and a triumphant time for Noxus. Soon following Viktor’s invention of the Battlecast series, Noxus declared all-out war on Demacia, under Grand General Jericho Swain’s direct orders. It was soon realized the Grand General and the Machine Herald had formed an alliance for global conquest. As much as the Champions of Demacia fought, they could not overcome their robotic duplicates. One by one they fell. Even the Champions of the Void could not withstand the onslaught of their doppelgangers. Cho’ Gath was the first to fall, sacrificing himself as he was faced with numerous Battlecast clones, and allowed Malzahar and Kassadin enough time to seal the gateways of the Void. This prevented Viktor from harnessing the limitless energy that existed there. Interdimensional Conquest would have to come later. Katarina and Talon revoked their allegiance to Noxus and, with Jarvan the IV’s approval, joined the Demacian cause. The Shadow Isles stood by as they reaped the souls of the dead.

Demacia knew they could not win under such conditions, so they use their last resort. Everyone opposing the Viktor-Swain duo helped to provide time. Gangplank’s incredible force of pirates along with Demacia’s navy and Fizz would stall coastal front. The Kinkou saw the imbalance of forces and sent their elite members, Shen, Akali, and Kennen, to support the cause and retrieve any vital informations from the Heart of Noxus. Zed also joined. No word from them has returned. The champions of the Freljord joined together and lead the Freljordian troops against any opposing infantry while Nunu and Anivia used their magic to create ice barriers and hoped the subzero temperature of their area would slow the robotic forces. Mao’kai along with Zyra and Teemo took to the forests. Mao’kai would try to awaken any of his brethren who remained dormant for centuries. Zyra manipulated obstacles and created a plant army of her own. Teemo scouted ahead and put his mushrooms to use.

The rest of the valiant champions lead the ground forces. With Ezreal’s new Pulsefire suit, it seemed the resistance would hold for longer than anticipated. Jayce and Zilean have finished the preparations. Zilean could not send any current champions to the past, as it would disrupt the time-space continuum. As such, Jayce took it to himself to create one. A champion who could not just be subjected to time travel, but also defeat Viktor in the past.

The last thing Adam remembered was the sound of whirring machines, the close clamor of battle, and his creator’s hammer as he was flung into the wormhole of time and space.

Adam awoke to find himself at the doorsteps of the Institute of War in Demacia. Everything was clear now. He was meant to learn from the champions of Demacia and their allies as well as observe their enemies to succeed. Although Jayce in the present did not recognize Adam, or completely believe his story, he recognized his emblem on Adam’s shoulder and his own handiwork. Zilean saw the remaining time-magic radiating around Adam. With their referral, Adam was admitted into the League. Thus began his journey as a student and his destiny to change the course of history as the Envoy of Peace.

“Information is power.” - Adam

Phrase: “Roger that.” “On it.” “For the sake of the Future.” “Brilliant.” “Viva la resistance.”

Taunt: “Study up. You could learn something.” “I cannot be learning weakness.”

Joke “Knock, knock. (Pause)This is where you’re supposed to say ‘who’s there’, Summoner.” “What is a physicist’s favorite food? Fission chips.” “What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?” “The past, the present, and the future walked in a bar. It was tense.” “Why can’t you trust atoms? Because they make up everything.”

Skills:

Passive (Learning): Adam gains one stack assigned to any champion that damages him with a skill. Each champion can be assigned up to 10 stacks. With each stack assigned to a champion, Adam receives 1% less damage from that champion and deal 5% extra damage to that champion with 10 stacks. The stacks will decrease by half upon death.

Q (Explosive Arm): Adam shoots out a detachable fist (skillshot) that explodes on impact. Explosive arm can be reactivated again to leap over targets and explode on impact, dealing a small AoE physical damage.

W (Mach Armor): Passive: Each time an enemy skill is activated near Adam, Adam gains magic resist to a cap. Active: Adam can expend all stacks gained from Mach Armor to have enemy champions in a location lose the same amount.

E (Rocket Boots) Adam dashes a short distance and his next auto-attack deals increased damage as well as a slow. If Adam has 10 Stacks of Learning assigned to the target, the target is stunned (durations increased by level).

R (Absorption Core): Adam uses his best studying method and suppresses a targeted enemy champion for 2 seconds. After the suppression, Adam gains the target champion’s ultimate skill in place of “Absorption” and is able to use it once before “Absorption Core” goes on cool down or after a set time limit that increases each time this skill is leveled. If Adam chooses to activate the copied skill, he will lose half of all stacks on “Learning”. If the skill copied cannot be used by Adam, "Absorption Core" can be activated again to slow the target moderately.

This idea came to me when I saw the Inventor Viktor skin.

Like the idea, but not sure how feasible ability stealing would be. I would certainly like to see this fleshed out a bit more.

Ability stealing has been explicitly labeled as anti-fun and incredibly difficult. You see, it's not so much that it wouldn't make sense for him to do it, but having to go about arranging over 100 animations for this guy because of the ability steal alone is something I wouldn't want to go through. And then, how do you scale it? Whether he is one role or another, scaling will prove difficult for him because some decent ults require AP or AD to really be effective.

Idea isn't bad, needs work. I liked it up until the ult. :]
