Creating a Fan Champion ( need help )

So, I've been having some ideas on a fan champion, I won't spoil you with all the info but basically it would be a Targon ADC, the title would be the Aspect of the Heavens ( the sky, aurora borealis ) since Mount Targon doesn't have an ADC and plus we need more champs other than fighters because we have so many fighters in the game. PM me because honestly I have no idea what i'm doing and need help with this. Thanks!

If this is your first time trying to come up with a new champ just think of abilities that riot can make with their kit. Stun/Knockup/Speed boost/ As boost - and not a new energy pool or new league mechanic.

Adc's need to be mobile and do a lot of damage so the ult could either be mobility or more damage Adc's also need some form of cc also need a passive that can work with other abilities

That's pretty much all I can think of atm. BTW Q- Damage / Mobility W- Mobility / Boost Stat E- CC R- Some form of stat boost or high damage ability

Targons champs tend to wear armor or be a cosmic entity. You'd need a unique weapon and not all adcs are mobile Mobile adcs like kalista, Lucian, vayne, sometimes jinx with her passive, tend to have less cc While Ashe and Varus have more cc, because they can't escape that easily otherwise Then have to figure the theme and abilities that fit that, also whether they're a late game hypercarry, or better early on

There are a couple of sources to read if you want to get in-depth on making champion concepts:

  • A Riot post on champion classes/subclasses to know what you want your champion to do in general. There's a second one somewhere out there that modifies the subclasses a bit which is also useful.
  • Echoing's guide on a basic step-by-step process on making champions
  • This Board post provides a good look at how other people design their concepts
  • Riot Zileas' post on game design anti-patterns AKA don't do this on champions
  • A post on damage types and what kind of scaling you want on champions
  • Another post talking mainly about scaling ratios on champions. The LoL wiki is also good for this too when comparing your concept to other champions in-game
  • And of course, Katsuni's giant guide on LoL champion design. It's a bit outdated, but most of the basic stuff holds true.

There's also a few people whose activities on the Concept Boards makes their work (or posts) generally worth a look:

  • Echoing
  • Raxistaicho
  • Fugertech
  • River King
  • Sir ArmaMalum (former champion-concept contest creator, so look at those)
  • Arakadia
  • Skylarke
  • Candurill

Hey there!!! I'm actually bussy with a mount Targon Marksman aswel....basically because of the same reasons XD I figured that we needed a champ from that region for each role...

Anyway, what I find the most important in a champion concept is how it ties in with the existing lore, both in kit and in character. It's kit should fit with the champion...It should make sense for the champion to be able to do certain things (like Ahri and Rakan charming people, fits their character and their lore). This will definitely be half the work on the champion. It also offers a great starting point for coming up with abilities. Ask yourself, what would this character do in this situation? What would he/she have on hand?

As for the kit, don't worry, no-one gets it exactly right on the first try. I generally post my idea on the boards by the time im happy with how the kit and the character resonate with each other and then use feedback from the community to get the balancing correct :)

Give me a heads up when you round out your idea!!! I'd love to see your take on a Targonian Marksman!! My current working title is "Aspect of the Stargazer" ^^
