Some thoughts on galio update

I think galio is a fun champion, but often he doesn't really fit with a lot of team compositions. I think the main issue with him is that his ultimate which should be an initiation tool and the fact his identity of where he fits on a team is a bit obscure. I feel that maybe giving him a bit more supportive power and really turning him into more of an initiator is really all he needs.

Passive: Runic Skin > Runic Attunement

Allies affected by galio's abilities gain 5+ 20% AP + 20% bonus MR life on hit (people affected by bulwark and righteous gust)

Resolute smite: (unchanged mostly)

MAGIC DAMAGE: 80 / 135 / 190 / 245 / 300 (+ 60% AP +40% bonus MR) SLOW: 24 / 28 / 32 / 36 / 40%

Bulwark:

Galio grants target allied champion or himself bonus armor and magic resistance for 4 seconds, and heals himself every time bulwark's target takes damage, with each heal being 20% weaker than the last for each subsequent instance of damage

If used on allied champion galio also recieves half this effect

resists: 30, 45, 60, 75, 90

initial heal: 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+ 30% AP + 20% bonus MR)

Righteous gust: (just giving him bonus MR scaling)

MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+ 50% AP +30% bonus MR) BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED: 20 / 28 / 36 / 44 / 52%

Idol of Durand: Flight range: 900 (added a cast range)

Galio flies to target location and upon arriving turns into a statue and channels for 2 seconds, halving incoming damage and taunting nearby enemies for the duration, which they cannot mitigate with crowd control reduction. Idol of Durand can't be canceled by movement commands for the first 0.25 seconds of its duration if it strikes at least one enemy champion

When the channel ends Galio bursts out of his statue form and deals magic damage to nearby enemies, increased by 10% for each basic attack he received while channeling, up to a maximum of 40% increase, if the channel is canceled or interrupted, Galio deals magic damage in a smaller radius.

While channeling, Galio can cast bulwark and along the path Galio flies he leaves a trail of Righteous Gust.

MINIMUM MAGIC DAMAGE: 200 / 300 / 400 (+ 60% AP + 30% bonus MR) BONUS MAGIC DAMAGE PER HIT: 20 / 30 / 40 (+ 6% AP + 3% bonus MR)

Some notes: where Galio is going to land would be a range indicator of where the taunt will be to allow for some counter play. Think pantheon ultimate here.

Also the reduction in damage from being attacked during Galio's ultimate is to make up for the fact it is much easier to use and as such if it kept as much damage as it had before, it would be too much. Maybe even need to reduce the damage a little bit more

Also I realize that Galio's scaling damage all around will take a small hit due to the fact he will no longer scale the bonus MR damage with items such as deathcap, but I feel that his overall utility makes up for it.

The only trouble with galio is he isn't fast, his ult is amazing, but unless you are an annie and pop flash to ult, galio can't really catch up to enemies. His e is underwhelming until it is maxed and costs WAY too much mana early and mid game.

one thing that I want to point out for the ult change is that Galio is set up to be a disengage tank, I actually suggested adding a gap closer to his ult before realizing this, more recently though I suggested adding a secondary effect to his W, so that when he cast it his next basic attack would deal additional magic damage on hit and restore a % of his max mana, with more mana restored for champions or large monsters(auto attack reset). Galio's issues aren't that he has a bad kit, it's mostly due to his serious mana issues.
