Rylin The Relentless Hunter Jungler Concept

Hi Everyone,

This is a concept for a jungler that i feel is not really represented in the current league roster, i wanted to create a jungler that relied heavily on tracking the enemy and has the ability to find out a bunch of information by counter jungling. Let me know your thoughts i didn't provide any damage numbers or mana costs as i'm not to familiar with what would be appropriate.

Rylin The relentless hunter

Passive: Eyes of the tracker. When Rylin comes in contact with an enemy jungle camp that has been taken he is able to see the last few moments before the camp was taken. this provides him with the following information/who took the camp/their resource levels(Hp, mana, energy etc.) at the time it was taken. After 10 minutes Eyes of the tracker will work on his own jungle camps provided an enemy is the one who took the camp.

Q: Trackers Dart. Rylin fires a long range dart enemies hit by the dart are marked granting Rylin vision of them but dealing no damage until the dart is removed. Rylin may remove the dart at any point as long as he is in range. The dart will fall off after a 4 second delay causing no damage. Deals bonus damage to monsters.

W: Blood trap. Passive: Rylin is able to see the bloodied tracks of enemies he has trapped for up to one minute. Active: Rylin places a trap that when triggered causes the enemy to bleed for 4 seconds, moving will cause the bleed to deal increased damage up to a cap. Large monsters can trigger the trap. Max of 2 charges.

E: Hunters Veil/Hunters leap Active: Rylin lies in wait and gains camouflage Rylins next move will be a leap that increases based on the amount of time he has stood still. if Rylin leaps to a brush the cool down is reset and immediately gains max distance/damage on his next leap. Leaps cause AoE damage on landing(based on distance traveled) and remove Trackers Darts from targets in range.

R: Hunters Frenzy Rylin marks enemies in an AoE around him with enhanced trackers darts for 6 seconds these darts deal AoE damage when removed. During Hunters Frenzy the cool down of Hunters Veil/ Hunters Leap is 0 as long as an enhanced tracker has been removed. If an enhanced tracker has not been removed after 2 seconds or if Hunters Veil/ Hunters leap failed to detonate a tracker it will go on cooldown. Hunters Frenzy can target Epic Monsters

Lots of info missing on this champion. Melee? Ranged? Assassin? Fighter? What weapon does he use?

His passive deals no damage, its useful, but lack luster.

I feel like he's missing a real damage spell. Tracking is okay, but I feel like they should deal damage on hit, and not when they fall off? Why would they deal damage when they are removed?

Blood Traps. (Maybe Rupture traps or spikes) Cool concept, I like bleeding, but one minute is far, far, far, far to long. 10 seconds at most.

Hunters Leap: Very similar to Rengar's passive. Camoflauge is mostly useful while moving however.

Instead, maybe something like :

Hunters Leap : Rylin charges for up to 3 seconds to gradually increase Hunters Leap's range and damage over 1.5 seconds, during which he is Camouflaged, pacified and Slow slowed by 20%.

Second Cast : Rylin Leaps in the target direction, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies upon landing., increased by 0% − 100% (based on channel time).

While in a bush Hunters Leap always has max Range and damage.


This gives him a way to gank, and makes the camo useful.

Having Traps kill entire Jungle camps by themselves, even if its only when the enemy jungler doesn't get to them in time is game breaking. I don't think there is any way to implement this without Breaking the Jungle game in half. Other ways to do this is just to put a trap that triggers if the enemy camp spawns, and gives you vision.

Tracking Darts do not really make sense for a damaging ability. I recommend changing the name to something more ...not passive? Not a lot, we can keep the theme. Just something that doesn't imply it deals no damage. (Real Tracking darts don't hurt the animal they attach to.)

Example

Hunting Darts. Range 1500 Cooldown 8 seconds at all ranks.

Rylin fires a Hunting Dart in a target direction, stopping at the first enemy hit, dealing physical damage and revealing them for 4 seconds.

Hunting Darts that land in a jungle camp reveal the area briefly, and then root themselves in the ground for 60 seconds, or until triggered by an enemy, where they reveal the area, but deal no damage.

What this does?

This allows you to do what you want, in a non-game breaking way, and to be fair to enemy players who don't want their camps revealed 100% of the time. This allows you to fire a dart into a jungle camp, and see if the camp is spawned from a good distance (Hit the camp, not the creature will not aggro it) (Nidalees spear range) If the camp is there, you can take it. If it is NOT there, the dart will act as a tracker Trap, and will ping you when the camp spawns, or when triggered by an enemy. It will NOT tell you if it is destroyed. (maybe 1 auto attacks to break it.) It doesnt deal damage to camps, so the enemy jungler wont know if you traped the camp recently.

As for his ultimate.

I don't really get the ability. He marks enemy's around him? Does he shoot everyone with a dart? It automatically targets them all like a morgana Ultimate? For a projectile themed attack it doesn't really fit thematically. Morgana's ultimate makes sense because she is spiritually tethering herself to her enemies souls. Its magical. Your ability also has lack luster range. It doesn't feel like he wants to be surrounded by his enemies, looking at his kit.

Other ideas, trying to keep the theme somewhat the same, but making it fit with his kit and feel.

Name pending

Rylin hurls a Granade for 0.5 seconds to the target location exploding on impact, shooting out exploding darts that mark enemy champions and epic monsters hit for 4 seconds. After 5 seconds the darts explode, dealing physical damage to all enemies in the arear. (Enemies take 50% less damage for each explosive after the first.) Hunters leap refreshes its cooldown when hitting an enemy that is marked, but consumes the mark.

What this does: You get to keep the layered explosions, that deal damage if the enemy's stack up. You also get to keep the hunters leap cooldown refreshing, but it will consume the marks. This is so you can jump to each enemy if they are not stacking up.

Thats about the best I can do. Honestly the entire ability is really odd and doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I understand you want his trackers to be very important, but I don't think tieing his ultimate into the ability is a good idea.
