Kha'Zix Update

Today I'm here to talk about, guess who? That's right, Khazix. specifically, what could changed about him that makes him actually live up to what he's supposed to be.

In case you don't know, Kha'Zix a champion who is based off of the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise. He also is tied to a Vestayan champion known as Rengar ![Rengar](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Rengar.png), who is based off the enemy of the xenomorph, the Predator. He is what is known as a Void Born, hailing from "The Void," and thus sorta related to Cho'Gath ![Chogath](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Chogath.png), Kog'Maw ![KogMaw](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/KogMaw.png), Rek'Sai ![RekSai](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/RekSai.png), and Vel'Koz ![Velkoz](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Velkoz.png). He is an automatic enemy to Kassadin ![Kassadin](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Kassadin.png), due to his relations to the void, and a possible ally to Malzahar ![Malzahar](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/champion/Malzahar.png), for the same relations.

Now that I've touched on who he is, let me talk about what he is, and why changes need to be made. First off, Kha'Zix is a pure assassin. You can try bruiser builds, and tanky builds, but it doesn't work out that well. Due to his passive "Unseen Threat," He gains certain aspect against Isolated targets. One problem already, only two abilities are affected. His **Q** and **W**. Kha'Zix should feel like an unstoppable force against isolated target, but like an easy piking when against to a group of two or more. Here is where I think should be changed. I'll go through all spells, and what should be changed about them.

Starting off with his passive, "Unseen Threat." This currently does two things. First I'll talk about the Isolation part. It just gives his spells unique interactions against isolated targets. But as stated earlier, only his Q and W. His Second part, the Unseen Threat part, gives him bonus damage against a champion after not being seen by any of the enemy champions on the map. It deals magic damage that scales off of AD. this is the first problem I have. You have an AD reliant champion, who could destroy anyone who build armor, just because they don'y build MR. But one person who builds that Maw of Malmortius ![item 3156](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.11.1/img/item/3156.png), negates your damage with that shield. It's ludicrous, and insane. Your auto's deal basically true damage, but the spells deal nothing, or vise versa. It's so awkward and strange. Really, an Assassin should either shutdown, or be shutdown, but not left in this clunky pickle.

His **Q** is "Taste Their Fear." It's an ability that doesn't live up to his name. What it does is simply do damage on a target you clicked, it's a point and click spell. BUT, it deals extra damage against isolated targets. Not to much extra, but extra. It's really good, but needs a but in damage, and I know the just nerfed it's base damage, but increased isolation damage. It's just, Kha'Zix is under-powered at the moment, and this actually feels like it hurts him more than it helped him. His evolved Q causees a reduce cooldown against Isolated targets. Okay, so Kha'Zix is supposed the be a strong 1v1 champion, and that's the case at the VERY beginning, but once things actually ramp up, it falls down. His Q evolved is good with the CDR, but one thing is that could be changed is to save the extra damage until after it's evolved, but the extra cooldown is given before evolved.

His **W** is "Void Spikes." This one is straight forward. You shoot a spike in the direction of the cursor, the spike explode on contact with enemies, and you are healed if you're in the explosion radius. When evolved, you shoot two more on adjacent to the first one on both sides, and only healed by one spike. You also slow when it's evolved, and the slow is doubled is the target is isolated. And bam, here you are. Isolation no longer plays a role. What should be done is reduce the damage given on his W, and move it to his E, or increase the dmg overall, but lose the heal. I do miss the Slow on base W, and think it should return, but the evolved W just Snares or Roots when isolated. Which would make sense considering your legs are being IMPALED.

His **E** is "Leap." And all it does is leap. It the same distance as flash, and farther you leap, the higher and longer you're in the air. When evolved, Cooldowns are refunded on champion kills and assists, and the leap distance is doubled. Now this does set regular players from the actual Kha'Zix players. I constantly play on 68-100 Ping regularly, and I find it difficult to pull off the double jumps perfectly, I can do it, but it is difficult. Again this has no ties with Isolation, and is a great skill. But I feel like when jumping the best way to tie the mechanical skill of Kha'Zix with Isolation is by one of two things. Either you move his refund part of it to only be refunded against Isolated targets, which will add a lot more mechanical awareness of the champ to be successful, or by increasing the range of leap in the direction of isolated targets only. Basically, when a target is isolated, your leap will have in increase range when jumping into that direction, with a 2x leap range in base, and 3x in evolved form. This would make Kha'Zix terrifying when you're isolated, but no more so when you are low health and Warwick is alive.

Lastly is his Ult, "Void Assault," which has an active and passive. His Passive allows you to evolve one ability each time you rank up his ultimate. So you can evolve into "Reaper Claws," "Spike Rack," "Wings," and "Adaptive Cloaking." But his Ult allows you to become invisible, pass through minions, increases movement speed for two seconds, then reactivates your passive. That's it. After 2 seconds, he can recast the ability within a 10 sec time window for free. When evolved, he is able to walk into a bush when outside of combat, then proc Void Assault's active for 3 seconds, then persists for 1.5 seconds after leaving bush. The only thing I can think of to change about his ult is to give him more increased movement speed when running near isolated targets. That's about it. I feel like all spells need to have a tie to Isolation.

So to finish this up, I feel like Kha'Zix needs to be updated to where when fighting and stalking isolated targets, you should feel more like a predator taking every opportunity to capitalize on their vulnerability, while also making him more are a target when they're grouped, forcing you to retreat. This will not only increase Kha'Zix Play making potential, but make him more of a mechanically advanced champion. These are my thought on the champion from a MR 7 Kha'Zix Main.

Now, i will admit i have toyed around with Kha, and not really played him hardcore, but i see a fundamental problem with adding root to his W, and that is the fact that Kha is already one of those blitz Gankers. One of those champions who gets on top of you, deals an ton of damage. Adding Heavy CC to champions like this makes them much more deadlier because you can't move. I would even say that Diana is a little borderline because of her E, except for the fact that the range is short, The cooldown is long, and the closer to the edge they are, the less it effects them, not to mention that Diana's E is a stationary cast, where Kha's is a mobile cast (I think, sorry can't confirm RN).

Now onto your point about Maw of Malmortius, it isn't just Kha that is affected by this, but Diana, Ahri, Annie, LeBlanc, and a lot of other champions. So i would say its a null point.

Now Assassins do tend to fall off late game, but they can still punish someone who is out of position, Especially a squishy ADC, Kha has the ability to leap in from the side, and if he kills them, his E is back up, and then your gone. Now is it normally as easy as this? No. But the point is still the same.

Now once again, I do not play a lot of Kha, and haven't really started to play him yet, although i plan to at some point.
