So first off, I adore all of the new card skins, and I am ecstatic that morde's is getting unique animations. However I am very surprised that if morde is receiving updated animations, Queen if diamonds syndra is not, especially given the community backlash. Could we get a rioter to discuss this with us?
It's been talked about before, they'll change particles on lower tier skins if it seems absolutely necessary for the thematic. Such as his attacks using the weapon he's actually holding, or sivir's boomerang blade being the weapon in her hand.
Red orbs are the color o enemy sundry orbs I'd the problem. It's because of gameplay clarity.

As DreamLeviathan has touched on, some lower tier skins will receive particle changes if their current particles don't do justice to the skin. These are more so "quality of life" particle changes. Taking Warden Nautilus for example, if he had his deep sea grates floating around him instead of the shields present in the skin , it might read really bad or come off a strange. The particle changes for King of Clubs Mordekaiser is so that his Q better matches his weapon.
