[Champion Concept] Reed, The Boy of Sound.
Reed, The Boy of Sound.
Reed is a blind champion, whose eyes always stay shut. He moves by hearing the sounds around him, and making his own sounds letting him know where things are! (Think Sonar).
Reed's size is SLIGHTLY taller than annie, but the same similar body wise. Reed runs with his arms up ready to touch any walls he may have not known were coming, He wears a raggedy dark shirt, with tan shorts. I imagine his face to look sortof like the kid from the sixth sense. (scary movie from the 90's)
(LORE IS POSTED UNDER THE SKILLS.)
My thoughts going into his kit. *Reed is a small boy, think annie size, with a big mouth. I wanted to somehow incorporate an intricate bouncing skillshot sort of design, but still keeping it simple enough to understand without the screen getting to crazy with stuff bouncing everywhere. In my mind he is meant to be a HIGH mobility, close range ap caster (Thought I think his kit could be used for support or tank ap top). The player should be rewarded for being able to position themselves effectively, while still being able to kite. *
NOTE: I don't know much about stats. He may be way unbalanced, its hard to judge for me
HEALTH 370 (+80) ATTACK DAMAGE 50 (+3) HEALTH REGEN. 5.0 (+0.7) ATTACK SPEED 0.668 (+2%) MANA 225 (+50) ARMOR 15 (+3.5) MANA REGEN. 6(+0.7) MAGIC RES. 30 (+0) RANGE 550 (Ranged) MOV. SPEED 330
Passive – "Growing Confidence" Through his time on the rift, Reed learns his surroundings and puts them to memory, amplifying his AP and gaining bonus movement speed by 3% at lvl’s 5-10-15 (total of +9% Movement and Ability Power at lvl 18)
Q – "Scream" - Cooldown 8s - Mana Cost - 55/70/85/100/115 Reed screams in a cone shape in front of him, if the cone is in range of any terrain or wall, the cone is reflected at an equal and opposite angle (The reflection is determined by the center of the cone shape). If hit by the first cone, enemies take magic damage (50/75/100/125/150 (+40%AP)) If hit by the 2nd cone, enemies take true damage (20/35/50/70/100 (+ 20% AP)) and slow the enemy by 20% for 2 seconds.
Example Pictures (NOTE: IN THE EXAMPLE PICTURES, I WOULD LIKE THE RANGE TO BE LONGER, AND THE CONE NARROWER, TO ALLOW MORE FARMING POTENTIAL AND NOT GETTING POKED OUT OF LANE, ASWELL AS MORE OPPURTUNITES FOR REFLECTION SLOWS).

(OLD | MY ORIGINAL IDEA) Q – Scream , shooting two projectiles in a V shape in front of him. These projectiles can bounce once off of terrain in the skillshots range. If the projectiles strike a target before bouncing, it deals (high damage). If an enemy is struck by a projectile which has bounced once, the target receives (Low Damage) and is slowed by 20%. (OLD DITCHED IDEA. KEPT IN HERE INCASE PEOPLE WERE INTERESTED)
If you know how sound works and travels, it reflects off surfaces like the skill would act (equal and opposite angle). (At least thats what it said in my sound book I've got :D)
W – "Inner Concentration" - Cooldown 15s - Mana Cost 80/85/90/95/100 Reed focuses on the air around him and becomes ultra-aware. He gains a spell shield for 2 seconds which absorbs the next spell cast on him. When a spell is absorbed, he focuses his mind on the opponent and his surroundings and gains (7%/9%/11%/13%/15%) bonus movement speed for 2 seconds.
E – "Spatial Awareness" - Cooldown 10s - Mana Cost 75/85/95/105/115 Reed gives a quick, loud pitched yell which informs him of his immediate surroundings. Enemies within the outer ring take magic damage (60/90/120/150/180(+ 25% AP) and enemies right next to Reed are stunned for 1 second.

R – "Sonic Reverberation" - Cooldown 100s at all levels - Mana Cost 100/125/150 Reed opens his eyes and goes into a sonic state. Reed then screams, creating a extremely loud blast of sound. After a .75 second cast, he knocks any enemies VERY close to him back, and launches a large, fast moving projectile soundwave which moves in a straight line, and can bounce off up to (0/1/2) objects (terrain only). This soundwave passes through any enemy or ally in its path. When it passes through allies, they gain bonus movement speed and increased cooldown reduction for 2 seconds. When the soundwave passes through an enemy, it deals (75/115/155(+35%AP)) and and slows their movement speed 40% for 2 seconds. The soundwave can only pass through a unit once. The SoundWave dies once it leaves the skill range (which would be pretty large).

NOTE: I wrote this without knowing they were dropping the lore, but I still kept it, cause I thought it was a decent story. It's pretty brutal now that they murdered the lore :( (And it may have had ties to somebodys lore. Also, I'm not a great storyteller, so bear with me.)
LORE:
No one knows where or how reed came to be. He was always told that an old traveling merchant on a route through the plague jungles heard loud screams and found him. The merchant would deliever the crying child to the next village he traveled through, where reed would be raised by two of the natives. The two native parents would grow to love the child, however there were always complications. Quickly the two parents would notice he would never open his eyes. They wondered why, but overall didn’t question it. Reed cried as often as any other baby, however Reed’s cries were different. These seemed like normal cry’s at first, however they would quickly grow louder, and louder. By the time Reed was two, the cries were so loud that the parents could barely withstand the loudness of the cries. They knew these cries were anything but ordinary, so they sought the help of Heywan Relivash, High Councilor of the League of Legends. When Relivash received the letter describing the cries, he had his thoughts about what and who it could be. He immediately made his way to the village, and as for what he would find, he wrote in his diary.
“A child with loud, almost unhuman screeching? Two possibilities. One. The child has induced trama to the vocal cords and is extra-ordinary when it comes to producing the sound with those vocal cords. Two. Of which I hope it IS not for the sake of those villagers, somehow something from the void has slipped through. The way she described the cries makes me think “void”, but let’s hope it is not.”
“An Update on our new, unique, child. As I approached the village, I could see smoke looming from above the canopy. I immediately knew things were not alright. From above, I could see that most of, what I would assume was the center of the village. A crater approximately 75 yards in circumference, lined by a thick layer of charred ground made for a grizzly scene. Though the crater didn’t reach the whole village, it appears that all people in the town lie dead, even those in their houses around 500 yards away. An Interesting note, most bodies I can see, seem to have bleed from the ears. In the middle of the crater lay a sleeping child. 1, 2 years at most. I am to bring him back to the institute for further examination.”
“Another update on the child. He seems normal. We have constructed a soundproof room of which he can live comfortably, and we can examine and measure his unique abilities. It seems he is always rubbing his eyes, but he never opens them. His loud cries are the loudest at night when he sleeps and we will try to communicate with him in the coming weeks. I’m thanking the heavens that this was no void incident.”
Over the next 6 years, Reed would learn to speak and listen with the direct assistance of Heywan Relivash and the High Council of Equity. The High Counsel saw this child as truly unique, and with time Heywan would teach the child to control his voice, along with the important skill of how to use it. Reed was learning to listen to his own voice and how it reflected off surfaces and came back to him. Reed was developing skills which no regular human or creature could develop at such a rapid pace. The High Council was skeptical, but Relivash loved spending time with the boy. The High Council, and Relivash, would discover the real power of Reed one summer afternoon.
With all the new knowledge he had received in the past few years, Reed grew interested in himself and his powers. Reed wondered why he always rubbed his eyes, and why he never could open them. “Have I ever tried really opening them? I don’t think I have!” thought Reed. He spent hours trying to physically open his eyes, using his fingers, his face muscles, everything he could think of! But no matter how hard he tried, they just wouldn’t open. Finally, Reed grew frustrated and let out a loud scream of which his eyes opened almost naturally in synchronization with the sound of his voice. Before Reed could think dust filled his throat and the sounds of crashing walls reverberated all around him. He couldn’t tell what he had done, but all he knew is that for one second, for one brief second, Reed saw the world, however it was not in color as it was described to him, but a black place with objects outlined in white. Reed, distraught and confused thought to himself “They lied to me, why would Heywan lie to me”. Reed began letting out loud screams of sadness of which no one had ever heard before. When Relivash ran to reeds enclosure, no matter what Relivash and the High Council did, the screams would not stop. The screams, never ending would prove to much for the High Council to tolerate and ultimately came up with the conclusion that they must lock Reed away, so his voice could never resound anywhere but his chamber. However the walls of his chambers could not contain the strength of Reeds screams. They sought other ways to console the boy, but none seemed to work. The High Council had one last idea. Let the boy participate in the League of Legends to where his screams could have meaning. Relivash firmly detested the idea, but the High Council agreed it must be done.
When the boy returned from the fields of justice, the boy would sleep. The High Council loved this time, and so it was rule that the boy be allowed to participate in the League of Legends.
Main Quote: “The noises I hear aren’t the noises you hear.” Joke: Yells out “Marco?”
**Interactions with Sona: **
“The music, it BURNNSSSS.”
“The sounds you make aren’t impressive.”
Interactions with Lee Sin:
“I’ve heard that voice somewhere…”
Overall I think the concept has potential. It was fun to think critically about League in this way. Thoughts?
btw: can anyone figure out the mystery behind his lore? :)
