[Champion Concept] Jor'Lan, the Infested Voidborn
This is a WIP for a Void support champion concept. See the edit section at the bottom for changes since the original posting.
Name: Jor'Lan, the Infested Voidborn
The success of the strong is the success of Jor'Lan and it will feast when they do.
Lore: Jor'Lan holds a different position in the Void from the other more well-known Voidborn found in Runeterra. The species is slight of build, nimble, and low to the ground, with a long flexible tail for balance and "grooming", and scales for protection. Jor'Lan is therefore mostly unappetizing to void creatures much larger than himself, to eat or to catch. And then there's the parasites. In its youth, Jor'Lan fed on the discarded remains of prey left by stronger hunters. Though a common source of food, it is no free lunch because of the eggs and larva of parasites. Using his tail and tongue in a process similar to grooming, Jor'Lan removed and consumed these parasites for additional food. However, some were found useful and spared, becoming living tools for survival.
A species termed simply the Drainling is one such parasite found on Jor'Lan. It can be launched to feed on a target host until full and swollen like a tick or flea, returning to Jor'Lan to share the meal or to another host to satisfy their hunger in a submissive gesture. The Pulseling, similar to a very large and hungry looking firefly, uses an attractive bioluminescence to lure prey into range before suddenly jumping up and blinding them. As a tool, it is able to accentuate the aim of its host or to follow a target while dropping a trail of lit beacons marking their movements. For dangerous situations, the Shielding's quickly-hardening, glue-like fluids are ejected to slow threats and to prevent injury. Jor'Lan discovered this usefulness personally and starved for a week.
Passive: Grooming Auto-attacks cause Jor'Lan to secrete a thick glistening substance from between his scales. This lowers the appetite of his parasites and thereby increases his base health regeneration for a short time.
Q: Drainling Castable on Jor'Lan or an ally, the next targeted attack (auto-attack or single target spell) launches the Drainling onto the enemy. The Drainling does magic damage over time to a max of XXX(+XX% AP). While the drainling feasts on the enemy, it applies an effect like Greivous Wounds by redirecting a portion of the targets healing to the Drainling causing it to reach the max damage sooner. Whoever launched the Drainling receives the kill (if that happens) but stats and additional effects always come from Jor'Lan (AP, MPen, etc.). At the end of the duration the Drainling returns to the sender and heals them for XX% of the damage dealt.
W: Pulseling
The Pulseling is a targeted spell but with max travel distance and slow-ish travel speed. This makes it dodgeable primarily for counterplay reasons since vision is so strong and it works sort of like Saplings (
) or the Twin Ghosts (
).
On an enemy champion
The Pulseling emits a beacon every 3 seconds that drops to the ground and reveals a small area around it (vision about the same as a Teemo shroom?). Allies that can see the beacon have 5-10% increased movement speed towards it and beacons last for 1 second.
On an ally
The Pulseling marks enemies attacked by its host with a laser-like markerlight. Marked enemies take additional magic/physical damage while marked. Only a single enemy can be marked at a time and the mark lasts for 1 second after the last attack. The Pulseling can be reactivated when on an ally causing the Pulseling to charge up the markerlight intensity to release a blinding beam with a range of X. The first enemy champion in the line is blinded for X seconds.
Target Missed
If the Pulseling misses its target, the Pulseling drops to the ground and acts like a beacon for 5 seconds. After a second the Pulseling readies its defense mechanism. If an enemy is within X range of the Pulseling it will jump at them and generates an intense pulse of light, blinding nearby enemies for X seconds and ending its beacon-like effect.
E: Shieldling
The Shieldling fires a blob of sticky binding onto an ally or splashing the ground in a small radius.
Ground Targeted
The sticky binding splashes onto all enemies in range when it lands reducing attack speed by a small amount X% and movement speed by YY% that degrades over time (like a reverse
charge mechanic).
On an Ally
The sticky binding forms a shield on the ally that absorbs X(+Y% HP) damage and lasts for 3ish seconds. If the shield is broken, or at the end of its duration, it explodes pushing nearby enemies away.
R: Infestation Jor'Lan emits pheromones to excite its smaller parasites into a frenzy before jumping onto a target enemy champion. The excited swarming parasites absorb a portion of damage that Jor'Lan receives during this time. After the jump, Jor'Lan climbs all over the enemy champion attacking and covering them in parasites for X seconds. Projectiles originating from the enemy champion hit Jor'Lan and the parasites immediately during Infestation. Jor'Lan does (base AD + XX% AP) magic damage once per second during Infestation while the parasites apply a MS debuff.
