Any possible way to play old Shen? Possibly pre-updated champ choice?

I mained Shen before the update. The new update kinda ruined him. I like it to a point. The old q was amazing. It was a form of range. I don't like how you have to die to ranged opponents very quickly. Also why does Riot need to make every champion more complex? I just think if they made a way to play pre-update champs too. Like have an option in the champ select to play old or new. I would just like to get this out here just to be able to save my opinion of Shen for me.

"Broken" is a difficult term. Champions are typically reworked because they have fundamental design issues that are preventing them from being able to be balanced, or because they have uninteresting gameplay patterns.

In Shen's case it was a bit of both. He didn't have a lot of skillful ability usage in his kit and, unlike equally simple champions like Annie and Garen, he also didn't have enough ability variance to even have any real gameplay patterns save his ultimate. As a result he'd simply sustain forever if too tanky, beat you into a pulp if tuned with damage, and push forever while either one occurred.

He needed to become less of a ball of stats with mediocre gameplay in order to be healthier for the game, so they reworked him. Don't ever expect to see old Shen again though -- putting multiple versions of the same champion into a game is detrimental to clarity, and (since champions are reworked because they're not suited to Riot's vision of the game) detrimental to gameplay.
